Trainer: John Bezou - Hypoxia Performance
Hypoxia Performance believes every runner has the ability to be exceptional! Hypoxia specialize in long-term planning and goal accomplishment with a primary focus on first-time ultramarathon runners.
Hypoxia Performance was founded in 2019 by John Bezou ("Coach John") after his 20-year military career where he served as a Master Resilience Trainer and the Director of Human Performance for the 25,000 soldiers assigned to the 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Coach John ran his first ultramarathon in 2010. Since that time, he has competed in every ultramarathon distance from 50K to 100 miles. To date, he has completed over a dozen ultramarathons and in 2022 he completed RacingThePlanet's 4 Deserts Grand Slam.
Coach John is a Certified Level 1 coach with USA Track and Field. He is currently pursuing his Master's Degree in Coaching and Sports Performance at the University of Southern Mississippi.
