The Namib Race (Namibia) 2028 is her 17th time at a RacingThePlanet / 4 Deserts Ultramarathon, having previously volunteered at Namib Race (Namibia) 2022 & 2024, RacingThePlanet: Lapland 2022, Atacama Crossing (Chile) 2022 & 2023, Gobi March (Mongolia) 2023–2026, The 20-Year Race (Jordan) 2024, The Last Desert (Antarctica) 2024 and 2026, and RacingThePlanet: Greece 2025. Full of energy, positivity, and determination, she brings support and strength to every event - is it even a RacingThePlanet event if Janka isn’t there?!

Charlie joins the course team at the Namib Race 2028 having previously worked on the course team at the Gobi March 2023, The 20-Year Race (Jordan) 2024, and the Atacama Crossing 2025.
At home in the UK, Charlie is an Event Assistant at Cancer Research UK, helping deliver mass-participation events such as Race for Life. He also works on the UK music festival circuit, including Glastonbury and Boomtown. Alongside his events work, he creates and assesses the data used to train AI large language models.
Charlie is a committed long-distance hiker who has thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail in the USA, Te Araroa in New Zealand and the Long Trail in Vermont. He's happiest outdoors and helping put on live events.

Samantha (Sam) Jackson from the United Kingdom joins the Namib Race 2026 volunteer team for her fourth RacingThePlanet / 4 Deserts race and is excited to get back to the desert again. She was inspired to join after her son, Charlie, volunteered at the Gobi March 2023 and joined herself at the Gobi March (Mongolia) 2024. She loved it so much that she then join volunteer team at RacingThePlanet: The 20-Year Race in September 2024 and the Atacama Crossing in 2025. Sam has over 30 years' experience as an executive assistant. She is a keen athlete and enjoys meeting people from across the world.

Nancy is from Windhoek in Namibia where she works in the corporate world of Human Resources, but she has an adventurous creative edge. She loves people, connecting with others and hearing their stories - finding it fascinating how different everyone's journeys are and how we can learn from one another.
She is excited to join the volunteer team at the Namib Race 2028 for her first experience of RacingThePlanet having heard all about it from RacingThePlanet alumni, Elke. She is looking forward to combining adventure with the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Being part of such an extraordinary experience, stepping outside of her comfort zone and making new connections and memories along the way.
