We are excited to welcome Jo back for her eighth RacingThePlanet Ultramarathon. Based in the north of England, Jo is well-practised at supporting runners in ultramarathons. A full-time artist and illustrator, she previously worked with software providers for the arts and sporting industries, managing clients ranging from Tate Galleries to the Silverstone Race Circuit. Jo has also competed in triathlons and running events, is a keen long-distance hiker, and when not out on the trails can often be found with a sketchbook in hand. She is also the creative mind behind the special poster presented to finishers of the 4 Deserts Grand Slam (Plus)

Ekaterina “Kate” Theisen is based in Singapore. Originally from Saint Petersburg, Kate never thought about ultrarunning, or running at all, until 12 years ago when she watched the documentary "Desert Runners". It took 12 years, 3 countries, 2 kids, 1 husband, 1 global pandemic and volunteering twice at RacingThePlanet events (the Gobi March 2024 and the Atacama Crossing 2025) to finally do what seemed an unachievable dream - getting the courage and signing up for her very first ultra race. RacingThePlanet: Greece 2025 was Kate's first RacingThePlanet / 4 Deserts Ultramarathon as a competitor. She then returned to support competitors at the Gobi March 2026 with new found understanding and experience and is back again at a RacingThePlanet / 4 Deserts Ultramarathon for fifth time to volunteer at RacingThePlanet: Brazil 2027.
