QUICK FACTS
Brazil is the location of the 16th RacingThePlanet Ultramarathon.
Previous editions of the RacingThePlanet Ultramarathon have taken place in Vietnam, Namibia, Australia, Nepal, Jordan, Iceland, Madagascar, Ecuador, Sri Lanka, Patagonia, New Zealand, Georgia, Lapland and Greece.
Chapada Diamantina is a protected National Park region and is recognised as a paradise for outdoor adventures.
It takes place in August 2027.
RacingThePlanet: Brazil is a qualifying race for The Last Desert (Antarctica).
There are more than 480 km / 300 miles of trails in Chapada Diamantina.
UltraLite (Brazil) is held alongside RacingThePlanet: Brazil where competitors will complete up to half the distance of each Stage and can be supported. This provides the challenge, adventure and community of an ultramarathon in an awe-inspiring setting but with a more flexible format.

Every Stage of the course will pass at least one waterfall – some are higher than others, but all are amazing.
The meeting place is Salvador, a vibrant Afro-Brazilian UNESCO Heritage city.
The highest point of the course is 1,037 meters / 3,402 feet.
The lowest point on the course is 321 meters / 1,053 feet.
The race finishes in Iguatu, known as the Machu Picchu of Brazil.
The format is the same as all RacingThePlanet and 4 Deserts Ultramarathons – 250km in 6-Stages over 7-days.
Total Elevation Gain: 5,273 meters / 17,300 feet.
Total Elevation Loss: 5,239 meters / 7,200 feet.
It is a self-supported race which means you have to carry a comprehensive list of mandatory equipment. Tents are provided at each Camp for sleeping, water is provided at checkpoints along the course, and full operations and medical support is provided.
Approximately 20% of competitors run the entire course, 60% combine running with walking, and 20% walk the entire course. The fastest completion time is expected to be around 24 hours and the slowest around 70 hours.
Places are limited to 150 competitors for RacingThePlanet: Brazil 2027.
The course fully marked. No navigation is required.
More than 40 countries are expected to be represented at the race.
The temperatures are expected to be 30C / 86F during the day and 10C / 50F at night with a medium level of humidity.
Each edition of the RacingThePlanet Ultramarathon “Roving Race” takes place in new location.
The best time to visit Chapada Diamantina is May to September.
