After a good night sleep woke up reday to go. Wanted to go out hard for first 2 chkpts 19.5km cause down hill, good track and and wanted to get into camp by 2pm. Ran with the leading woman runner from UK and the Siberian Russian brothers. Spreda out the donkey legs and made it to chk 1 by 9am and chk 2 by 10.15am very happy so rewarded myself by walking some and enjoying the views over the Parnon Ranges. 4km out of Caryatidis Village started running with another group and got my Cliff Young shuffle on. Feeling good headingn into chpt3 at 12pm, JV Adeventure Tours took over. I missed the pink flags                    ( RacingThePlanet Rule No1) and went into town. 10min up and back then another 5min up another way and back 3km allup finally saw the turn off but there was a cafe and a boy named Panayioti there. I asked if I could takre a seat and he said all good and then he asked his mum Florina to bring me a coke. She brought it out and asked if I wanted any ice. I said that would be great and I was tempted to ask for some Scotch as well but didn't. 20mins later i said i must go and. Florina brought me out another Coke for the road. This is called Filotimo.Left chpt 3 at 1pm and the next 11km was a great run. Got into camp by 3ish ( 1 hour later than I wanted but with more memories than I had wished for !! ). Feel good. Camp is a lot higher altitude tonight. Little cooler but dry and I've enjoyed them coke.
Looking forwrd to relatively easy day tomorrow. If I don't go on another JVAT, I might make up some time tomorrow but honestly, everyone has their own bus timetable here and I'm just happy to complete each section good and by 3 so I have good recovery time. Thanks for all your messages. Please keep them coming. I do enjoy reading them. Happy Birrthday for tomorrow to my brotherinlaw Theo and if I dont get to say it, Happy 21st birthday to our Godson Paul for Sunday. Take everyone and thanks. John

Hi John! I have loved the JVAT from Malabar. I have followed 151 on the map which looks pretty hilly at times. Sounds like you are really having an adventure and it is great that ur meeting the locals for a few drinks haha The scenery must be awesome and meeting people from all over the world, wow! Keep the stories coming, we are all backing you here from down under. It is very inspiring what you are doing, I’m sure you have had to dig deep to get through some days.

Overnight camp site on top of Mt Tagytus 2300m at Agia Marina ( St Marina even here she is following me !!) -3C and raining. Started Stage 2 with heavy rain and cold. Uphill for 450m to the top of Mt Tagytus then downhill for 25km to Sparta. By the time I got to chpt 2 11.30am feeling good as we could get some running going rather than steep uphill, doing a good time and rain had cleared and needed a wardrobe change as it was close to 30C. 50m into the village, a group of old men and a priest were at the cafe and they noticed the Greek flag on my shoulder. They stoped me and invited me to sit with them. Of course I did. It was good to have a rest and talk to them. Then the owner came out with a large mixed fruit juice and gave it to me. I tried to pay him but he said it was on him and wished me good luck. It was the best juice I have ever had and got me through to the next 10km. Along a small river with good shade was good conditions until it opened up to olive and corn fields. Along the track, it was getting hot and my hydration was needed. Got to chp3 feeling good and making reasonable time. Left 3 and it was a tough uphill 9.5km climb to Selesia. Hot and uphill is not a great combo but the reward was getting in at 3.20 even though I had done 6 extra km than yesterday. Top it off, the villagers offered all of us watermelon. I’m going up for 3rds. Hopefully pull up ok tomorrow and get to end. After that, just on halfway. Thanks for all the messages. I have read them all, and they are something I really look forward to when I get to camp. Really miss everyone and will have a few stories to tell when get home. Love to all. John

Hi Everyone

Campsite in Kardamyli rain overnight, 8am start and tough uphill goat tracks and gorge crossings, Hit the mountains about 20km in and the fog was heavy. Felt good and finished at 3pm. Toughest stage done. Camp 2 is in the mountains. Expected temp 0C. Amazing running through the villages. Heard its a Storm v Broncos GF, Take care.
