Order Freeze-Dried Meals to Pick Up in Greece - deadline 10 August
One of the key equipment items for the race is to bring your food for the 7 days of the race.
- You must bring a minimum of 14,000 calories.
- There are many ways to make up the 14,000 calories, but we recommend that you bring at least one freeze-dried meal for each day. Expedition Foods is just one brand of freeze-dried meals, but there are many others.
Option to Order Expedition Foods Freeze-Dried Meals to Pick Up in Greece
As shipping around the world can be complicated to some countries at the moment, and bringing food, especially dairy products and meat, into Greece from outside the EU is officially not allowed*, we have set up an option where you can pre-order Expedition Foods freeze-dried meals that you can pick up at the hotel in Greece.

In order to ensure that this arrives in Greece in good time for the race, we ask you to place your order by 10 August. It will then be available to pick up when you arrive at the race hotel.

Notes
- If you live in an EU country then you can order the food from https://expeditionfoods.eu/ to be delivered to your own address and carry it to the race - but you can also make use of the service above if you prefer.
- *Bringing food into Greece from outside the EU is not officially allowed, but if you are bringing a small amount of freeze-dried meals for personal use in its original, sealed packaging it is not likely to be a problem.
- If you live in the UK, you can order Expedition Foods from the UK website that can easily be sent to you from the UK. If you want to completely avoid the very small risk of taking food into the EU, you can also use the option above.
TIPS FOR PLANNING YOUR FOOD
Typically food is planned based on the following outline:
> Breakfast: 500 to 1,000 calories
> Food on the course: 500 to 1,500 calories
> Recovery: 300 calories
> Dinner: 800 to 1,000 calories
