Nick Askham has a passion for sports, travel and the great outdoors. Originating from the UK, he worked as a podiatric musculoskeletal specialist in both the UK and Australia. He has spent every spare moment away with his backpack travelling the world on foot, cycle, skis or underwater in SCUBA gear. His love affair with running started in 2009 when completing his first road marathon. Having now completed more than 40 marathons, Ironmans and ultramarathons, he can generally be found out on the trails enjoying the opportunity to explore the countryside.
Nick initially volunteered for RacingThePlanet at the Sahara Race (Jordan) 2014. He has been to many races, mostly as a part of the course team and then as course director at the Atacama Crossing in 2017 and 2018. He first took on the management role at the Namib Race 2019 which he continues to work on as well as assisting with other races within the series.
