The Last Desert (2016) blog posts from Karen Meades

Hi again,

I find myself with a little more time to blog.

We were able to get our passports stamped with an Antarctica stamp. Awesome!!!!!

I have to do a shout out to my running partner Cynthia, she is bright and cheerful throughout the run, awesome running with her. Because we are moving slowly through the course, faster runners, well ok all the runners, are lapping us. We cheer them on for each one passing. It makes the hours pass by in a fun way

We just had our briefing for tomorrow, we start at 730 and run until 2pm. Not bad, at least we have an end time, and you now know how this goes, weather permitting.

The runners are getting excited, I think they know the end of the race is near!! You can feel the excitement in the room.

I am going to have to go now, I

Wait til you see the building! Robert came by last SAT and all he could say standing in the reception was "woooow" :) Our best to both of you and have a safe voyage home. M

Hey, Maybelline, glad to hear your makeup and pedi are holding up! We Goddesses have our standards, after all. I will ask my Dad about the bird, but he may need more descriptive detail. Or a photo. Film footage? I'll see what I can do. I'm glad to hear it's going well, and relieved that you're almost finished. Happy trails, my friend!

Hi Karen, I am reading your blog with a big smile on my face, it 's like you are just beside me lol Tell Cracker that Robert is scrutinized at every border crossing too. Born in Bulgaria, with crazy tan in the summer - easy profile :) When we cross the border by car I drive otherwise we are pulled over as soon as Robert opens his mouth lol you heard his accent! I saw the Russian church during the first stage and thought of you. Let us know when it will happen, we are very happy for you! Check your emails, I sent you another update on our little project. Keep writing and good luck in the next stage!
