Your blog was hilarious to read!!!!! Loved loved loved it, esp being to EXACTLY identify with everything you said. Like trying to reach the finish line at exactly the right moment. It was great to spend another race with you, and hearing your cheers and guffaws every day. Stay well my dear xxxx

Bride to be and snowshoe girl had a lovely saunter up and down a little island with mountains and icebergs and penguins. I took more fuzzy pictures.

The Danish girl (best bunkmates ever!) had a fabulous race

YOU DID IT!!! I just checked in and saw the Grand Slammers photo and you with your owl hat. Let the fireworks blaze and the champagne flow. You truly are a super tiger snowturtle. I bow down in awe.

What's that in the air? A whiff, a breeze, a little wind, no a huge gale of victory, a grand finale, on to the finish and celebrations for a tremendous year of massive accomplishment. Croissants and coffee for everyone! Greatness is a good thing. You rock, Cynthia!

Bride to be and snowshoe girl had a most excellent day! 1 pee, 2 laps, no one fell in the water, and the world has been spared yet another bad penguin picture, as we were pulled from the course before we could do the photo lap. The photo lap is where I try to take a few fuzzy pictures while we stand in the deep snow as the faster runners (that

Greetings Oh Most Esteemed Snowturtle, I went for a brisk walk in the snow today, thinking of you with just about every, step. No penguins, I'm sorry to say. They must be quite the distraction! I walked as fast as I could, wondering if there was any way I could keep it up day after day the distances you do. It truly is so impressive. Hats off to you, Cynthia. Enjoy your last day there, and I hope you get a great penguin shot while you're at it. Hugs, Barbara

One more do-do and it's done! Congratulations on the day. I was wondering about the pee bit...it's wettish and trying its damndest to snow in Montreal so obviously we can't compare with your scenery! Those penguins must be something else - if they only knew about the movies, T-shirts and music. I'm glad you got some time to rest, no doubt charging ahead today with bride-to-be. Some great photos of you two together and some of you all bundled up, which we don't recognize except for the hat and your humungous smile! Good luck and bring home some snow.

I have only just realised that these blog posts are here - I had thought that you had said that you wouldn't have internet - so sorry for the radio silence. I have been following the photos and the results though and it all looks quite amazing. And I can definitely see the attraction. Beautiful vistas, cold but not too cold, good food, warm bed, good company, indoor loos at night - what's not to like?! And you get to test and challenge yourself and finish every day exhausted. Well done you. What an adventure. And the other 60 people you're sharing the boat with must be fascinating - not least because they share your passion for ultra events. Look forward to hearing the details, xox Robin P.S. Bride to be...?

It really looks like a surreal landscape!... as I wrote that I realized that all of the desert races could qualify for that comment also! It stands out anyway, with the mountainous glaciers as backdrops and the deep snow you are trudging through! Did you pack a toboggan in all those bags you carted with you? It looks like it would be a fun thing to do there. I wonder... has anyone tobogganed in the Antartic before? You could be first!.. at university we used to borrow the trays from the cafeteria and use them as sleds... is the boat equipped with largish trays? You look like you are having a great time... I wish I was there! J

The photos are indeed amazing - it looks like a totally awe-inspiring place! It has snowed here since you left and, from the sounds of it, it's been colder here than there - go figure! Never took you for a snowbird!! :-) There's one shot of you, but without your name bib I would have never known it was you. Looking great and, as always, your attitude shines! GOOOO Snowturtle Go!!

OMG, Cynthia, I can't even recognize you in the photos, you're so bundled up! Loving your blog (and the fact that there are now fast turtles!). Your stories always give me massive FOMO... Keep up the good spirits, the laughter and the glory - you're my biggest role model! Big hug from New York (where I braved ten snow-flakes in your honour on Sunday...), Connie xxx

Amazing endeavour for an amazing woman. Anxiety's par for the course, I suppose. You're not alone - everyone's cheering for you. And better to have 2x the stuff than not enough.
