Five days before the race starts and all set to go. Flying out of Bangkok early on Friday morning and hope to be enjoying a dip in the Dusit Cairo pool later the same day after transferring through Dubai. Kit pretty much all sorted (with thanks to Eric Lahaie for bringing out a new blister kit out to Cairo at short notice). I have just discovered some Worcester Sauce and sun dried tomato crisps in the local supermarket that will do nicely for a recovery snack... I will make my final decision on shoes tomorrow as I am still umming and ahhing over switching to Salomons or sticking to my tried and tested Inov-8's which served me so well in the Gobi and Atacama. Probably can't go too wrong with either as both have felt great on long runs this Summer. Renewed fundraising for Shelterbox has started a bit late as usual but hoping to raise the total up towards Stg16,000 for the three races. At Stg12,990 as I write...any contributions much appreciated as ever www.justgiving.com/ambstevenson2011 Looking forward to catching up with Gobi tentmate Olivier Thiriet, the RTP team and meeting new runners. Gary Cambridge's parmesan cheese will be sorely missed...
