Greetings! My name is Steve, and I am participating in my first Sahara Race. My journey to the starting line is a long and complicated one. I have always admired the serenity and grandeur of deserts; I signed up for the Sahara Race as soon as I read about it. That was a year ago; about 6 months ago, I severely injured my lower back. I almost had an operation, which would have ruled me out of the race. Thankfully, my physiotherapist and I worked on an intensive program of physical rehabilitation, which has brought me much closer to competing in the event. Of course, the road to the race is still long - I have only recently resumed training, but I am making decent progress. I won't be setting any records, but I will do my best to cross that finish line!

Hi Steve Wow that's impressive. A back injury is a big thing to come back from, with or without training for a 250K ULtra! Sounds like you have the right attitude to get you through! And If you end up running towards the back of the pack at leats you will have the rest of us slow coaches to keep you company! Good luck for the rest of the training and see you in Cairo JD
