Well,  it´s been 7 days since I returned back from Egypt.  Bussiness as usual, family, work and friends and I am still overwhelmed by the wonderful adventure-expierience in the Sahara Dessert.  Believe me, that all of us who expierienced such a beatiful place, we are the lucky few to see the Sahara like nobody else in the planet.  The last final 5 hours of the last stage were quite painful,  but I always remember that "PAIN IS TEMPORARY, GLORY IS ETERNAL".  With this race I complete  25 years of continous running career.  So many places, and expieriences, that this race will become one of my most memorable events of my sporting career.  I look forward to another 25 years of new adventures ( and yes I am signing up for ATACAMA 2014 !!!!! ).  It´s difficult to thank each one personaly who contributed to making this event a complete success, but I want to congratulate all the team at RACING THE PLANET, for your kind support, enthusiasm, high spirits and such a good vibes from every one, especially to Alina,  Ross, and Mary (such a proud company to work in).    Thanks so much for everything, and SO LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING EVERY ONE IN ATACAMA 2014.

Ooooh!! 54 days.   Yesterday was a good day.  Ran Mexico City Marathon in un unusual extremely hot day in  3:20.  Tested a couple of new tips and they worked!! Nothing like the real thing, but looking forward.

I´ve been viewing other blogs and today is my first attempt to write one, due to the fact that today marks 118 days till the race.  Which means today I have exactly like 105 days of serious training. And today I ran 30 kms. So I am determined that the next 3 months are going to be kind of difficult. In every sense, work and family specially.

At this point in my life, 2012 marks 25 years of continous , some times " serious"  running. So  I decided to do something special and several  months ago after serious pondering I made up my mind to "participate" in Sahara 2012, due to the fact, I was worried that my family and friends would think I was crazy.  But i said to my self  " hell , why not, you did 240 kms in 2007 in Costa Rica, you should give it a try". Obviously, the conditios are very much different and 5 years older..........

AIl I can  say up to this moment is that  I am very exited and so looking forward to be in Egypt in October, and do my best to complete such an event!!! And after so many years of running, of course being "prepared" physically for any endurance challenge is essential, but as my good friend and trainer  told me once after my first marathon, " of course running is in your legs basically, but  running a marathon is your head and heart"
Saludos!!!
