well we made it!!!!!! the terrain was a little nicer than namibia note to mark and dave!!!!! but it was boiling hot again somewhere in the late 40,s which is over and above my tanning levels. we were pretty strong until 60km running a lot of it.. had a couple of nasty encounters in the oasis, which was spectacularly beautiful but first thing was this guy riding a donkey asking us for money in arabic. he then whacked his donkey with a stick at which point im like "dont do that" then he gets this evil look in his eye and whacks it about 3 more times laughing. could have got agressive with him remembering my kickboxing days but held it together. we then come across 2 other guys running alongside us one swinging a machete and asking for money. was very glad to have the other girls with me i have to say. anyway that was the only dramas outside our physical pain which kicked in at 60km chk poiint. noodles saved us and we pushed through to the end, ending on a very steep deep sand dune into camp. 18 hours and we were in such pain. lucys feet look really bad again and my ankle looks like an elephants. nothing glamarous about us this race even the lipstick got left behind!! we are hanging round camp today sweltering and then tomorrow we have a 1km run to the pyrammids which will be amazing and hopefully b y then some of the pain will have subsided so the three of us can actually celebrate completing as a team for the 2nd desert race. i love my team mates we have had such a great time together and our next event in the desert we will be doing a driving safari!!!!! christy and jeffa were phenomanal and finished this morning so proud of them!!! thank you all for all your emails i love getting them!!!!! im now off to take it easy as could not sleep at all last night as every bone was throbbing!!! lots of love from team goodsport!!! xA

thanks for everyones emails its so nice to get into camp to hear from everyone just no mention of pedicures as our feet are something else!!! today was another scorching day a balmy 49 degrees and hardly any wind in the morning.. we managed to somehow chat the whole day again, really a miracle we still have anything to talk about at this stage! we are nervous about the big day tomorrow, we are leaving at 4am which at least makes it cooler... only good news is if we can make tomorrow we are done.... one poor guy was so dehydrated today he couldnt stand or keep anything down and was put on an iv at chk point 3. its scary seeing someone in that shape.. so wish us luck tomorrow and im sure we will still be going at this time so will blog when can!!  xxA

so lovely to get into camp after a particularly hard day and to get so many emails from people. It really makes us all feel so much better to hear from you. Well by some miracle this morning it was announced that team good sport is 3rd team overall, dosnt matter there are only 4 teams left in the race there were 8 that started out so we were really happy!!! Today was so hard 50 degrees from 9am and i felt sick a lot of the way. got some trapped nerve in my foot which periodically doubles me up. We are now in camp and starting to try eat as much as possible to get us through the big day which is looming close. cant imagine having to do the same distance again as we did today but we will deal with that when it comes... thanks for all ur emails xxA

cant believe team Good Sport is back in the desert again! we are now at the end of day 2 which we did in 7 hours and 50 minutes which for us was really great. Day 1 was hard for me it was unbelievably hot and i think my body was not use to the hardship that these races put u through. anyway day one was a big wake up call and i, who i thought never suffered in the heat felt nauseus the whole of stage 2 and 3. Thank god for my team mates we somehow managed to chat the whole day today and whiled away the time. The end of the day we came along the crest of 4 sandunes which we loved and we still managed to run it in. we are trying to avoid a diareahh bug which is going around camp so our antibacterial gel is with us at all times... the desert is really beautiful and im now about to go and have sissel stick a needle in all my blisters.. so glam!! just wanted to thank everyone who has sent me and team good sport messages, its sooooo nice to hear from everyone and is a welcome distraction from the pain when we get into camp... wish us luck tomorrow hope we can stay consistent and dai dai free!!! also thank god for white musk which is our team perfume!!! xxA
