Sounds like you may need to upgrade from a toddler diet on these races to a kindergarten diet (apple sauce, fruit snacks, lunchables and hostess products?) . Awesome job!! Looking forward to hearing more about your experience!! #wooyeah!

How marvelous Ralphie is your endurance! You and all the other runners are machines! The difference is (between you and machines, that is) among all of you there must be some great friendships. Who else could truly sympathize with what you all have struggled through this week!

Your music selection is beyond awesome, and very similar to mine (aka eclectic)! Proud of you for pushing yourself with all of the challenges you had leading up to (and during) the race. You're the man!! Kimble

All this time I thought you were out there running hard races, but instead you're taking casual walks on the beach? You know you don't actually have to walk a billion miles on the beach to use the pick up line "Hi my name is Ralph and I like long walks on the beach"... Anyways, glad you're doing well. Keep crushing it. Also, whenever Phil Collins is on, I think of the crew training trip when we were arguing about the lyrics and I was obviously right. Anyway. Good luck tomorrow!

Hi Ralph, Keep up the great work! The Tribe is rooting for you. As I read your blog, I just keep seeing you do the stadium in your flip flops. Hope that provides a wee chuckle. Warren: 'Woo' Us all: 'Yeah'

Good work, Ralph. It sounds like you're in a great position and well fueled for the upcoming long stage. We'll be following along and wishing you the best of luck for the remainder of the race. Keep it up.

Good luck on the next leg Ralph, also I'd be careful about dipping your toes in the ocean: "Africa’s desolate coast of Namibia is cold, great white infested but those barrels are oh, so inviting; inviting enough to forget the sharks, take the beatings, fight the current and try to pump that little rubber body of yours out the other side. There’s been no recorded attacks there yet, but ask anyone who’s surfer there and they’ll tell you: The vibe is there." THE VIBE IS THERE BRAH! P.S. you should keep these postings and write a book P.P.S. i wouldn't read it

Ralph!!! I read another persons blog, where they mentioned that in their tent one of the other runners was screaming bloody murder multiple times during the night. I really hope you're not in that one! Actually, I hope you're not the person screaming bloody murder. Here's the post, it made me giggle like no other: “Restless sleep last night.  One of my tentmates was having a very intense dream and was shouting (...really loudly...) in his sleep in his native tongue.  More than once, I woke up thinking he must be wrestling a giant snake, or a lion, or maybe killing one of the other people in my tent.  It would have been (almost) comical had it not been so frequent.  He is not popular today.  He better get it together tonight or there will be a mutiny…or worse.” I listen to that song all the time while baking and testing cupcakes hehe slightly different. Good luck in the long stage, we're all cheering for you!! Love you!

90's emo alt rock!? Stick to Phil Collins! I definitely do not miss fighting over the radio with you driving to St. John's... Keep up the amazing work and go crush the long day. We are all watching the results closely and can't wait to hear more! Sounds like you feasted like a true king, so you will be well fueled tomorrow. Good Luck!!! ... oh and equally as important, mom subbed for you and played golf with me and we won Monday's match!

Wow, what a day! I love the beach, but that makes for some tough running. Hoping for more solid ground for you on the long stage. Good luck out there! Kathryn

Ralph....a few music recommendations for you while you fuel up on those pop tarts/dinosaur oatmeal and easy mac...check out Toots& the Maytals "take me home country road" and "Pressure drop", also Ziggy Marlys "tomorrow people" always puts me in a good mood first thing in the morning..... To get in the adrenaline going or need a final push listen to Girl Talk, fan of his two albums "Night Crawlers" and "All Day". Also have the following on my pre-race playlist. DMX "X gonna give it to ya" & "I don't dance", Eminem "Till I collapse" & "Not afraid", NWA "straight outta Compton" and AC/DC "Thunderstruck" Lastly the most important question of the day....what flavor are those pop tarts and are the frosted or unfrosted? Keep kicking ass! #WooYeah!

Fresh home from work and everyday errands...couldn't wait to open up my computer and check on your progress. The gals at work congratulate you - along with all the Macs - on your Stage One victory. Now tomorrow I can brag you are still in first place overall after Stage Two. Praying for you! And cheering you on! Are the stars really so bright as the photos suggest?

Ralph, Just remember: as long as you're not racing in a self-made skirt (a la Sri Lanka), then you're in good shape! The Kimbles are rooting hard for you! Keep building on that lead! Adam

Last one out of the tent .. you kill me !! But that is your routine .. so do not change it as it worked today .. John Walker , NZ runner , 1500m gold medallist at the 1976 Montreal Olympics .. best advice he gives ..." do not change your routine " !! Kia Kaha !!

Way to go Ralphie! A stage victory on day one, that is so exciting. Enjoy that yellow bib tomorrow. Glad that ankle loosened up for you and hoping it continues to feel good. I had a good laugh that it was Phil Collins that helped provide the motivation you needed to get you through the day. Take, take me home Keep it up! Xoxo Kathryn

Hey Ralph - saw you've come in first today, well done!!! I know we're supposed to be entertaining you here, but I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to reading your hilarious internal monologue. Trying to think of an entertaining story for you, but nothing's coming to mind... I will be trying to surf for the first time tomorrow, so maybe something will come out of that. We're all cheering for you!!!
