Hi Vikki, You are tracking along nicely. By the time you read this you will have conquered the Long March. I hope the strength yo have been building in the last couple of day's Stages sees you come home strong. Cheers Brett

Vikki - Your feet are blistered and sore - you feel like you've been in a war - your stomach is twisted inside - you just need a beer, and a pie. But with the left foot in front of the right - you look all around, what a sight. and you know that you do have the will - cos right now - time has stood still. Yes it has, VB, and you're as strong as an ox - and this is your time to sit up - take stock - for the earth that you walk on and at night where you lay its precious, you know, and made just for the brave. See its not for the bankers, the brokers and pricks - it's for people like you, with hearts that just stick. And with journeys like this we learn who we are - and from Melbourne to Namibia, our friend - you're a star. Be safe - make smart choices. Steady as she goes (it took me one beer to write this amazing work of art....)

VB. Star. If it was easy, then everyone would do it. Glad you are feeling better. Eat when you can - force it down, drink peppermint tea and put your bottled water in wet socks - yep - tis like a stubby holder. The AFL is falling apart. Hawthorn are finished. But the Sainters are on the rise Vik! I ran an 8km stroll tonight in your honour - now looking for a glass of red. Remember - Melissa Ethridge !!!! Run for life baby!!!!

Hi Vikki, You do not know me .. I'm an Aussie who completed the Grand Slam in 2014 so I hope these few thoughts help. As you know, every day will deliver up it's own challenges (that's a given). We cannot control the temperature, the terrain or the time -- but what you can control is how you break down each challenge and manage those things you can and surrender expectations around those things you can't. It's a gentle, humble acceptance of the difficulties that lay before you and the realisation that "there is something inside of you that is bigger than any obstacle". Stay strong and remember why you are there. Brett

Firstly, this is definitely the windest place that I have raced in! The temperature overnight was low and he wind did not stop. The sun went down really early (5pm) so most of the competitors were in bed by 7/8pm. I took a sleeping pill at 8pm and slept through until about 5am!!

First morning of race prep went well and I managed to make it to the start line on time and ready! One slight mishap with my sunglasses

To the Cuz with the mostest :) Of course you are doing well, you are a star. Just think as Day 2 as Easy, forget the moderate stuff. You will be fine. And please put some sunscreen on! And don't forget your sunnies and your undies! Aiden will give you his collingwood hat when you get back to replace the one you lost! Have fun Cuz xx

After 3 flights and a 4 hour car ride I have finally made it to the official race hotel in Swakopmund. Travelling more than 30 hours took its toll and I was certainly worse for wear after I arrived, not to mention I would have smelt atrocious.
