07 October 2011 02:45 am (GMT+09:00) Osaka, Sapporo, Tokyo
But, finaly, I could goal at the overnight stage.
Number of Check Point was 8, and average distance between CP was about 10.8km.
total distance was 86km.
Race started at 7:00 AM as usual.
Cut-off times at each stage were set stricter than I thought.
So pace of the race was higher than ever from the start.
I kept good pace till CP4.
From CP4, we climbed edge of high sand dune.
It was so exciting and the view from the top was the most amazing in this race!
Just arrived at CP5, in which tent and hot water were available, the sun sat.
This pace was along my expectation that later half of the cource would be "night run".
My foot and legs were completely worned till CP5 for harsh running of previous days.
It was hard for me to even stand up and sit down at the time.
This night run was hell.
I kept running alone in the dark desert, and foot and legs were so painfull.
When it passed midnight, I got so sleepy.
Tiring and pain and lack of sleep made my conscious unclear.
But, I had to run to finish the race.
I often nearly gave up the running.
But at the time, I remembered the face of many people cheering me.
I cheered myself and scolded myself.
Finally, I reached the goal at 4:30am.
I kept running for 20.5hours.
My achievement was owe to much support from many friends.
Thank you.
I felt Sahara's view, atomosphere, sunlight, starlight by my body in the running as I said in send-off party.
I want to enjoy last run of about 2km tomorrow.

Thank you so much for many comments! They encourage me very much!
I completed 4th stage!
When I wake up every morning, I feel much gratitude to still being in running condition.
I cannot find what is a critical factor for retiring in this ultimate environment.
One of my tentmates retired at last night because of fever.
When I was writing blog, a competitor sitting next to me couldn't stand up for his clumping foot.
I and Kuro chan brought him to medical tent.
So, keeping condition for a week is most important and difficult in this race.
My blister got worsened and a neil of thumb of left foot was nearly coming off in stage 3.
So I felt much pain in this stage.
Strong sunlight and pain some times make my conscious unclear.
Comment of blog and memory of send-off party were good pain-killer.
I remembered it again and again.
Of my surprise, Kina-chan, who is a cheer leader of Keio univ., became a "offical" cheer leader of Sahara race 2011.
He yaled "Fure, Fure Sahara" and every Sahara competitor called back "Fure Fure Sahara"
It was amazing view.
Tomorrow is toughest, longest and actual last stage, "overnight stage"
Many of Japanese competitors are making great records.
Of course, I will do it!

most course is soft sand, and it made new blisters on my foot.
In amazing, most of Japanese competitors gained their pace in this stage, but I kept my pace because it was my limit.
It was tough and tough travel for me in the view like anothor planet.
Anyway, I did it
Of my please, I got to know each other with Ren, who was a climer of Evelest, and also seven sumits.
He is a real adventurer.
Unfortunately, one of Japanese competitors, Abe-san retired after stage 2.

I jogged till CP1 at early morning, and walked at rest distance.
I took a pain-killer at CP2 because of muscular pain and I climbed and went down sand hills.
I made two blister.
It was tough course, but view was amazing.
After cp3, when I climbed down plateau, great view of sand and rock hills in front of me.
It was so beautiful.
Tomorrow`s course seems match tougher, so I have to take rest.

Before start, Kina chan, who is a cheer leader of Keio Univ. , cheered us with Gaku-ran.
I ran at just start point, but I started walking soon.
The view was sand, sand, sand… yes, it is Sahara desert.
Sandy ground, heavy bag and strong sunlight got me exhorted so much.I felt pain in my foot, but I could come to goal with no blister.
On the other hand, I was so impressed in starlight in the night, and I was amazed the desert view like another planet.
I am afraid and expect what challenge wait me in Stage 2.

On the contrary, I didn't like running.
Why have I decided challenging Sahara marason, the harshest marathon in the world?
I felt stuck in my career.
I sought breakthrough at that time.
At the time, two of my friends challenged dessert marathons respectively, Gobi and Atacama.
The challenge seemed completely crazy for me, but they looked enjoying the tough challenge so much.
When I saw their challenge, I felt like to try it.
I have never tryied such crazy challenge, so I felt this challenge would make me "get out of the box".
Too short time was left to prepare enough, but I tried to do my best.
This process gave me fruitful time, and depressed feeling was blown off.
Finally, the time is comming.
I would like to appreciate to the support of my partner, friends and collegues.
I will enjoy running dessert conveying my gratitude to the world as "TEAM JAPAN".
See you all in the desert!
