Finally I crossed the finish line at 19:30.
It was quite dark, my left foot soared a lot, felt hungry, all my body said “I cannot run anymore.”
Now it is in the next morning I am feeling good, my foot hurts a little bit.
As to the last 86K, it was horrible.
Very strong wind, may be more than 10m/s, attacked against me all the way!!!
Harsh, harsh, harsh, this is the desert!!!
I’d used up my energy at the halfway, from then I ran only with passion. So tough. Toughest ever.
Last 10K was after the sunset.
Sadly I couldn’t find any shooting stars in last 1.5h. It is my homework tonight.
Thank you for many comments and e-mails to me.
Without them I couldn’t image to be here in the last camp.
I do thank & love you all,
Shiro

I am keeping my pace all the time and enjoying running.
Good news. I finished the stage4 carefully. Slept well even though my tent was felt down, eat well, everything is going well.
Bad news, I have a blood blister in my left thumb. Anyway he is my new family.
A long 86K stage is waiting for me, and I am waiting for it.
I am feeling sad because we have just about 90K to go.
I am also looking forward of great food and drink in Cairo, almost dreaming.
I will enjoy running tomorrow for sure.
I do thank and love you all

Hey Shana! We all are excited with AHO runners' results, photos, and blogs every day! We re talking about Sahara race more often rather than Steve Jobs' death. Anyway, enjoy your race! Enjoy your Sahara!

Well done so far ! You are getting better and better. Almost catch up Ono-san. Enjoy long day, enjoy full stars in the sky, it is beautiful, I think it may be more beautiful than in Atacama. Cheers!

I have to thank the Great Sahara that taught me the excitement of running.
I am feeling that the human being is born to run further rather than ro run faster.
Anyway today is the best day in my poor athlete life.
Feeling great with cool breeze, enjoying running with my backpack.
I am feeling a liitle fatigue I will have enough rest tonight.
Of course, I am with my new family, 4 blisters in my foot and 2 holes in the gaters.
I am reading all the comments, and very happy with them.
Blog no comento zenbu yonde masu. Arigatougozaimasu!
I do thank you and love you all from sandy sandy Sahara.

What a beautiful sandy course! I wish you could enjoy 10000%.
03 October 2011 02:35 am (GMT+09:00) Osaka, Sapporo, Tokyo
Everything is perfect today.
After 13-hour sleep, my headache removed, wow.
Today's course was great scenary and not bad to run.
I ran 70% of the whole course and great feeling with the hot sun & cool breeze.
Good news, all competitors finished stage1, it's great.
Bad news, I had a small hole in my left gater, which prevents the sand to come into the shoes.
Anyway, tommorrow would be better than tommorow.
After tougher stage, I will be tougher enough.
Thank you very much for your many comments on my post.
I am very happy to read them. All the comments empowers me a lot.
I have 4 small blisters so far, I will live with them to the goal. They are my new family.
Now outside, strong strong wind. Every belongiong is quite sandy....
I am feeling I am is the DESERT, right.
I do thank & love you all,
Shiro

First of all, I want to express thank you to my great friends who sent me yell through RTP web.
I’ve finished Stage1 safely.
Keep running in desert is splendid. This is my new theme for Sahara Race.
Anyway very very hot…. I have to be careful to drink enough water.
I have some headache after I finished the line, I will take care.
And I have small 4 blisters so far, tomorrow would be tougher.
Good news. I am in the super-athlete tent.
I was 25th place, but 7th place in my 9-people tent.
Oh my goodness…
Anyway, I am enjoying Great Sahara with great friends.
I do thank & love you all.

I have just 1 week left to go the Great Sahara in Egypt.
This is my 2nd desert race after amazing Atacama Crossing 2011. I am very happy to be again in desert with fantastic friends from all over the world. I have to say thank all of you, my family, friends, colleagues, other competitors and friends outside Japan. I want to enjoy myself 100x more than Atacama, as I was really nervous in Atacama to get the finishers medal. Following is that why I want be there in Egypt just for the note.
I love traveling...
I've been 22 countries and 68 cities in 5 continents in last 10 years. In every county and every city, I was taught new thoughts of view, which is why I left Japan and start new journey many times. I want to see new things which I've never seen nor imagined before. Traveling makes me feel young, flexible and agile.
This is my 2nd visit to the Great Sahara. I visited Tunicia 3 years ago for the first time. It took few seconds to be felt in love with the beautiful and never-ending spacious desert. I am very happy to see her again.
Egypt is the 23rd country to visit. I am very looking forward to feeling the different atmosphere and meeting many new friends.
I love races...
I love races very much. That is simply struggling with myself. To be precise, struggling with who I was. After finishing the tough races that I was never thought I could overcome, I feel I can go much further than I was imagining. I started running just 2 years ago, and I've finished some marathons and triathlon races and Atacama Crossing. I feel I get tougher than ever before after every race. Every race can be life-changing. I am sure next Sahara Race will be.
Sahara Race will be great traveling and great race as well.
That is why I will be the starting line of Sahara race and want to be the finisher's.
I want share my finisher's medal after the celebrating jog beside the Pyramids in Cairo.
I do thank and love you all,
Shiro
