The last day was so painful just getting down the stairs off the bus was near impossible. as we waited to start i could not think of anything worse than running 10K, we started and all i could see is Giles sprinting off, so as we say in silver bil "suck it up".

i started to run well i use the term loosely and after 15 minutes my left foot had no feeling in it. i continued running until the finish.

Once across the finish, the pain and my emmossions took over.

What a great event and what fantastic people, i have made some great new friends over the week who i shared the highs and lows with.

I have been to the doctors since returning to get my feet looked at. they are infected and so painful, i have been put on anti biotics for the infection and had 3mm thick skin removed from the balls of my feet, getting shoes on just is not working and getting my fire boots on is just about possible all be it very very painful.

Now Thank you time. i will start with my beautiful fiancee who has had to out up with all my training over the last 9 months, with out here support i could never have done it.

My fellow tent mates especialy Giles and Blain.

all the support from Friends and Family back home, with there very welcome e-mails of support.

Adam - Thanks for telling me all about firefighting. I'm now striving to be just like you beacuse the job is so great and the pay is so good. All joking aside, it was truly a pleasure meeting you old boy. You showed incredible strengh and determination just to finish on those bloody mashed feet of yours. I sadly can't share those memories of cudding with Blaine, or wandering with Giles because like most days during the race I was entirely alone and had to resort to talking to rocks and small desert creatures. I can't wait for our next adventure, Team Silverbill will kick some more ass. Take care of yourself old boy, your no spring chicken anymore. Stay safe. - Scotty.

Will always remember our cuddles under the rocks of the sahara. Feeling utterly exhausted but knowing that I had good company to get my butt to the finish line - great times Adam - memories to last a life time of You, me and Giles wandering through the desert or at least to the next adventure. Best of luck to you and here's a glass to team silverbill! Blain

day 4 up at 4.30 breakfast and then drill holes in my toe nails to relieve the pressure, day started well but my feet were killing me i have the biggest blisters i have ever had in my life.

Ran all the way with Giles except for the first 0.5 Km where Giles led the race. once again so good to have the company, there is a hole lot of sand and more sand which can be so disheartening. we finished strong 19th place but my feet are mashed had to go straight to the med tent for treatment, the thought of 92 KM tomorrow is not a good one, but as they say suck it up.
