Vanessa Collins

Well two days to go before I fly into Cairo and the start of Sahara 2008 on Sunday 26/Oct.
Have managed to sort out the details for my chosen charity. The Friends of the Phoenix pre school for Children with disabilities, this is the first centre my lovely first grandson Malik, who has Downs syndrome attended. The centre is raising money for a sensory garden, and the Company I work for has started the ball rolling with a generous contribution with no preconditions about finishing, or ending up in Libya if I miss a flag.
I have finished packing my rucsac, it weighs in about 9kg with makeup and hairdrier ( there is power in the tents eh! )
I will be with my Husband and son in law Arthur who is a new Dad again, Anabelle Faith.
I am very nervous about the race, but I have trained very hard and finished my training with a seven hour session over the north downs carrying full weight.

I look forward to meeting everyone, and wish you all the best of luck

Vanessa, I told you you were stupid. Think my case is proven. Have been watching progress. Hadn't realised Arthur was with you as well as Chris. You are all mad and need to to see psychiatrists on your return! Will arrange for you to see a very good Client of mine at the Priory. Look after your feet and the Camels. Tony
