With less than two weeks to go before the race my husband Campbell with whom I raced Atacama last year has had to pull out of Sahara due to work commitments.

The nerves have set in and I am finding myself waking at 5am from anxiety induced dreams like being at the start line without my gear ... and so forth.  The truth is these are the same dreams I had before Atacama last year and will probably experience before Gobi 2009 and Antarctica 2010 ...

My bag is packed and I just want to get going, I look forward to seeing everyone at the Moevenpick Hotel!

Hey, you will be able to reach your full speedy potential now Campbell isn't slowing you down!! Ha ha. Don't worry, there are lots of lone girlies this time, me, Robyn and Cleo for a start. Our tent has more girls then boys, so you can always come and visit if the smelly boys in your tent get too bad!!! Our tent will of course smell of roses!! Everyone is getting super tense and just wants to get out there now - we will all be fine! Cat x

Sandra, Don't stress yourself out too much. The Sahara will be my first desert race and the nerves are starting to set for me too. Sorry to hear about your husband not being able to be there with you - but I am sure you will never feel alone during the race from what I have heard! See you there, Camilla
