Namib Race (2010) blog posts from Rich Kimmens

Well this is my first blog post, I thought I'd get one started as the race is starting to seem a lot more real!

I've sorted out most of my kit, am running with my bag, have booked flights and the hotel (if any competitors will be at the Dusit Thani from the 29th September get in touch!) and my training is starting to go well. I had a bit of a scare with my ankle as I thought I'd sprained it again but luckily it turned out that I had instead broken down some scar tissue left after my operation in April (apparently a good thing).

The longest race I've done before is a three day, marathon(ish)-a-day along the Jurassic Coast in England so the Sahara Race is a big step up, I can't wait to be on the start line and really hope I'll make it across the finish.

I'm doing the race in order to raise money for a British charity called Help for Heroes which raises money for injured servicemen and women if you would like to sponsor me please check out www.richrunning.com and click donate!

If anyone is in or around London and would like to meet for any training etc that would be great, please get in touch at [email protected]

Thanks and good luck to all the other competitors!

Rich
