Chris, Enjoyed your company and was sorry to see you in the back of the truck, but I agree, a sensible decision if you're not able to fuel / hydrate. It happens. It was very gracious of you to roll your sleeves up at CP4. The practical and moral support was much appreciated. Hope Namibia is proving a worthy holiday destination. I'd love to spend more time there. Do stay in touch. cheers, Neil https://www.facebook.com/johnno66

Sensible Chris. Glad you're in good shape .... I think you'll still be able to justify a significant quantity of beer, for medical hydration purposes of course!

Long day in the office today! Very tough 42km stage which took 7 hours 48 mins to complete. Lots of soft and beach sand which made running counter productive unless you

I'm sure the 7 hours 48 minutes could have been cut in half as I assume you spent the majority of the day lying down taking photos of all the seals! Good to hear that you're still feeling fresh and strong and that the tent chat is motivational. Just keep ticking off the CPs tomorrow, head down and grind it out! Look forward to the next update x

Amazing work Dad - still leading the old man's category! Look forward to hearing how the long march went - at least this time it's not walking along the Icelandic coast in the wind and rain...slightly warmer I presume!! Keep up the great work! Lots of love, J, Cam & Mylo xxx

All this talk of sand is making me feel slightly ill and causing vivid flashbacks! Sounds like you're cruising again, all this talk of minimal training was obviously an overblown lie! Glad to hear that you turned on the afterburners for the last hour or so, need to stay at the top of the age category! Keep it up :) x

Nice work Chris - I am sure your "power walking" is as fast as a light jog. I remember from Gobi days, it was definitely speedy :) I remember Day 2 from last year's race in Namibia.. and there was sand, sand and more sand. It took forever to get rid of it all after the week. Keep up the pace and power on!

Arrived quite late at very nice event hotel after 400km drive down from Windhoek. The usual briefing and kit check on Saturday before 3 hour bus journey up to camp 1.

Well done... Somehow you're always selling it to me, vague and "pleasant" recollections of Atacama come back. Keep it up, we're thinking of you, and have the entire bar at P........ lined up to celebrate your return... TnR
