What a week!! You've done an amazing job - sounds like it was tough out there (erm, understatement?). Looking forward to getting a chance to speak to hear more about it. Cheering Auntie Riitts to the finish line!! xx

Tuo kakkossija on tosi kova juttu. Love you, nauti viimeisestä päivästä!!

When you read this, it'll be behind you. Quote of the Day: if you hit a wall, never turn around. Find a way to go around it, over it or thru it. Can't wait to read your long stage experience. Well done Riitta, good to hear that your body is responding well to terrain. As I was running around like usual in HK yesterday, finding not enough time to fit it all in, I was thinking of you, how you were probably at that same time in the desert, in way more heat, with hours to go. So admiration! I hope you got great tentmates and plenty of time to get to know lots of interesting people, I can see not so many come from Hong Kong so there must be many new faces for you. And does the staff treat you well? I remember the RTP staff being a little stern (with us latecomers who seemed to not be likely to make the cutoffs) but incredibly nice and encouraging. I wonder how they treat you my dear. Anyway that gorgeous smile of yours must get you far, thinking of you, love from across the world. xh

Riitta, You are so strong in mind and body. But sometimes tough decisions need to be made. Whatever decision you make will be the right decision. And at the end of the day...these learning lessons will just help you to prepare for your next race...whatever this outcome!

You might also want to practise getting your kit out at night (when you are viciously tired) then sleeping on the floor on your pad and sleeping bag, then putting the kit all back together again after a not enough sleep oh I'm too old for this tossing and turning and crinkling. The coordination of your fingers and brain in the early morning can be gruesome, so having practices the early morning packing makes that part of the day less stressful. Hint: when Sam sing her good morning, you should be drinking the last cup of warm whatever, putting on your socks, and figuring out the quickest route to the loo. Have fun fun fun!!!!
