It started with the most exhausting trip here. 11 hours to Hong Kong, then 18 hours to Kashgar via Shenshen and Urimqui, then a 9 hour drive into the desert. Dani's first 20km were fine but after that James had to pull me through. And the next day as well. Basically, my shoes got too small and my toes were killing me. Yesterday, we had to climb 2000 metres up a 4000 metre mountain. At the end everyone was moving in slow motion cause of the thin air. James had to move quicker than me as he started to feel the altitude quite badly. I was in good spirits when running down the same montain like little goat. I soon got stuck in rain, hail and he coldest and most miserable weather that even the UK cant offer. And this was supposed to be a desert but we actually didnt have enough warm clothes with us to stay warm. At the bottom of the mountain the river had risen due to all that unusual rain. There weren't enough stones to skip on and I slipped and fell into the freezing water. I thought it was only another 4km to campsite but that was actually only the last check point. I had to run to keep kind of warm in my soacked clothes and after another 8km James awaited with some hot english tea.
