Well we're done and we just want to thank everyone for your emails and support through this race. It was really a great motivator and this was definately an experience of a lifetime. We are waiting on a plane to go back to Beijing right now and will be bumming around Asia for a little while. We're glad it's over but it's also a little sad as well. Thanks again.

Seans entry:
Day 4:
slight continuation of the previous day. Trevor stayed with me for the first 2 stages. He just had to sit there and watch me vomit around mile 8. The medics at checkpoint 2 made me stay at their tent for an hour and a half. I finally got up and felt better. The 3rd and 4th leg were much better. I got back to camp and vomited again, went to the med tent and got some anti nausea pills, then went and vomited again. They gave an anti nausea shot after that but it didn't work and they ended up hooking me up to an I.v. drip and told me that they might not let me start day 5 since i had been battling the stomach thing for so long. ive got pictures of the drip being put in for everyone when i get back.
Day 5:
Woke up and ate some breakfast. I had to eat something and then check in with the medics before i could leave for the day. Today is the long march. a 50 miler. Trevor and I stayed together for this entire day. I dont think we could have made it if we hadnt. Very draining. My feet are completely trashed. every step was painful. We had to run through these river beds that had baseball size rocks the entire way so our feet were just gettting bruised over and over again. They are basically mush right now. We got in about 3:00 am and i was about to fall asleep while i was running. It was weird to think about everyone back home being at work in the middle of the afternoon at the same time we were running at 3 in the morning. Ive wondered more than once why in the world i did this race and i havent come up with an easy answer. ive also got my first meal planned when i get back. a half pound cheeseburger with swiss and chedder and mayo, velveeta shells and cheese, a hideaway pizza half pepporoni half sausage, and a lobster tail. Damn thats gonna be good. Oh well, its over and now all we have left is the 7 mile victory run into town. talk to everyone soon.

Stage 4
Well boys and girls don't worry about those times. We got to see one of the most spectacular views I have ever seen. It was a tough day a felt pretty good but Sean was so sick. Talk about tough. Several times I thought to myself how is he going to make it and he just kept going! I was so proud of him. Little longer day than I would have liked but we made it and gave ourselves a chance at day 5.
stage 5
Only 56 miles stand between sean and I. 50 of which is to be completed today. Man thats tough to wrap your mind around.
We started off very slow and made it to each check point way before any cut off times. The pain was pretty bad, but after awhile your body goes numb. We made it to the over night spot waited about an hour and then decided to leave. The last part of the race was a breeze. The night made it possible for us to run and we probably cut about 2 hours off our time. It was such a relief to cross that finish line. Just a 10k left and I can eat some real food.
Sean and I have probably had the same conversation 50 times. What are you going to eat first. I don't even like McDonalds but all I have been craving is a big Mac with special sauce and as much pizza as I can stuff in my face.
Thank you guys for all the emails. Every step was made possible by the motivation you guys gave me. Every step was a little bit closer to getting to read more of them. I have spent countless hours reading and think about them. They truly have pulled us through.
Andee we wouldn't miss it.
To whom it may concern: Make me proud at the DH this weekend. Man I wish I didn't have to miss that.
Ash the date sounds great! Shouldn't interfere with this race next year. NOT!!!!!!!!!! somebody shoot me if I say I am going to try this again!
The cubs are rocking!
Love you all
love you ash

Trevor I had to buy larger shirts because my chest is sticking out with pride on what you have accomplished. You have been in our prayers and we can't wait to see you and Sean when you return. I cried with joy when I read you and Seans last two day blogs. As Jimmy V would say "don't ever give up, don't ever give up!" you proved what can be done when you follow this. You can fall back on this experience to pull through anything the rest of your life.
Love

Seans entry:
Day 2:
Today was fine. I felt good and hydrated much better than the day before. Kept a good pace and came in under 7 hours for a longer course. It was a very scenic route. the second checkpoint was beautiful but dificult. it was nothing but up and down hills. the problem with the mountains here is that they arent actually mountains. theyre more like piles of sand. they are very difficult to maneuver. The only thing that went wrong was i taped my left foot too tight and the pressure formed blood blisters on every toe on my left foot. I popped one on my big toe that was the size of my thumb. the campsite was extremely hot and it felt like an eternity waiting for the sun to go down. the sun doesnt go down until about 11:00 pm. very frustrating.
Day 3:
Didnt feel good today. from the very start i just didnt feel right. It was a very demoralizing day and by the last checkpoint i was very tired and rather than keep going i just wanted to stop and cry because i hurt so bad. Right before the last 2 km i just laid on the side of the road, too exhausted to move and i puked my guts up. Finally a jeep came up and gave me some water and moral support. I really hope this was my worst day because im emotionally drained and have very little motivation right now. Thanks for all the emails. They are appreciated more than you know. Sorry for not posting yesterday. Glad we got some air time on the video. Thats exciting. Ciao.

Day 2
Well unlike Sean day two was the worst day of my life.
It took every thank I had to finish. Im not sure what it was but I know it was over eight hours and thats is a long time to be in the sun. I had one foot out the door but some how managed to stumble in. Blister have set in and walking is just about the most unbearable thing I can manage. The scenery is absolutely amazing. I have never seen anything like it. I got back to camp, got some food, and started to feel motivated again. Ash I found the letter today and it was everything i needed.
