well Parbs, life (well, i mean WORK I guess) has run away with me lately, so i'm so GLAD to see that you are taking life by the horns and doing something so amazing. Your sheer determination is what gets you across the line in everything you do. Great achievement mate and can't wait to hear all about it. snow? for some reason that really surprised me. How do you carry enough gear for all weather types? In absolute awe of you mate. Maus xxx

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow........ can I say it again? WOW! I am in total awe of what you are doing Parbs, where you are and your determination to do this insane event. My running buddies in the five30runners think you are just amazing (and slightly crazy lol!) and lots of respect for doing this. I'm only just doing 15kms so to try to comprehend this incredible journey you are on, is mind-blowing. I can't wait to hear all about it because I've been well and truly bitten by the running bug and I am TOTALLY inspired by you to keep aiming for bigger things. Keep safe and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Michael.

Parbs, Mate you are getting along in good time and pacing well. Snow and a sand dune, I would never have picked it. I am with Lana, with guns like that, you could just bench the rest of the competition and win !!!!!!! Go mate.

2 planes a, train and a taxi in downtown Hami and we got to the hotel. Another 2 days of sitting around checking gear, official briefing and registration and I just want to go (like the other 160 competitors here). Finally we climb on to buses at 3pm today and drive with all our gear 2 hours. What can I say the views amazing. We travel from totally flat into a snow capped mountain range to then see open green pastures with sheep and goats , local huts occasionally and its stunning. Finally we arrive in a valley with camp 1. There are local people everywhere, cheering and wanting to take photos of us. Several dozen local police and Chinese military around the camp to make it safe and a local welcoming which I just cant believe. Steve, Adam and I just amazed at all this. Richard is already here and been working hard as a volunteer. We get a photo with a group of people, they are smiles. We watch two horseman chase a herd of sheep over the hill and we are all just trying to take it in. Words cant describe this
