My grandson is coming to stay with us on May 1st for a month, so I am doing all my final packing. The thought of chasing down a tiny Prezl headlamp in a mess of wooden blocks is too much for me to bear.
Today was a chilly two hours on the little mountain near the house, testing out the chilly clothing layer (waterproof mitts, wooly hat and buff; check) and how to stash the sticks in the pack (across the front pouch), and exactly where the water bottle holders go so that I can sew them in (those little persnikity snaps drove me to drink).
It has been cold and damp and grey all week here, and it promises more of the same for the next few days, so I am looking forward to being finally being warm.

I've just seen some of the photos. SNOW! Hope it has warmed up as you've moved through. I see you have finished stage four. Great effort. (Managed to find the updates in my junkmail - wondered where you'd got to). Keep up the great work!
