Rest day today after yesterdays longer stage.  We reached 55km (checkpoint five of seven) yesterday before the day was cut short by extreme weather conditions in the mountain.  Seemed strange given that we were in sunshine at the time but those in front and behind us had been caught in it.  Woke this morning to snow in the mountains so was a good call.

Stayed in Yurk last night rather than a tent which was a treat.  Twenty of us huddled up after the day.

Final run in tomorrow with a 14km stretch around the lake before a bus ride back to Bole.  Looking forward to the relaxed day seeing it home with the people we’ve met over the last few days.  Time to un-tape the feet, have a shower and do the post-mortem (perhaps even plan the next one…..!?)

Been a top few days.  Met some good people and enjoyed the race.  Overall we did pretty well in the standings also (given that it was our first one) so its been a good week.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us before and during.

We’ll do one more post when we get back, but that’s us from the GOBI.

Starting to get the pre race nerves! last long run tomorrow before I dose myself up on early nights and short jogs!

I am not sure if it is nerves but, I have to say, I felt better three weeks ago!

Looking forward to getting started.
