Well the long stage is finally complete. My feet were an absolute disaster and I ended up hobbling the entire thing. Took me almost 18 hours to complete. Walking in the desert at 1 AM in the pitch black wass quite an experience. Deathly quiet. I had to spend some time at the secon last checkpoint as the doctor wanted my heart rate to decrease before I went on. It felt really good to cross that finish line though. Blain stayed up and waited and helped me to the tent. Good to see a familiar face after so long on your own. Today we're just hangiing around camp resting up, taking photos, seeing the doctors and getting some good rest. Tomorrow we take a bus close to Kashgar and then finish off the last 10 km. I'm hoping to run it but my feet are objecting. We'll see. Blain and I are craving steak and beer and can't wait to get back. Love you all thanks for all your messages and kind words we'll see you soon. Reese miss you like crazy...

Hi everyone - well as Carson said it was a long stage.  The 1st half was quite scenic passing by a huge mountain range which went fairly fast for me.  The last 35 km were a real challenge over more riverbeds and rock which took a mental toll.  I ran with Rod from Israel for the 1st 25km then Stephan from Canada for the next 35 km and then it was just me until I came upon Chris from the UK who was hurting.  I was trying to stay ahead of Diana the lead lady and when Chris heard that she was about a K back he picked it up and we agreed to run it in together.  All said and done I finished 11 hours 42 minutes I think - I had a goal of 12 hours.  I felt OK for the most part but my calves really started to tighten up near the end from all the rocks.  Carson was a hero in fighting through some real pain to keep at it and get himself to the finish - I'm really proud of him.  I'm feeling good today as we relax at camp, legs feel pretty good and I came out of yesterday with only 2 small blisters - sorry Carson!  Tomorrow is the run into the finish, a good meal an ice cold beer and the flight home to my family which I miss terribly.  Kristin, your cards and emails have been very inspirational.  Love you babe - I'll be home soon.  This time in a lot better shape compared to the Sahara!  Love you boys - daddy will be home soon to play tickle moster!

* Aaaahhh, sigh of relief that I know you are okay babe. You two continue to astound me with your attitudes, determination and STRENGTH. Both of you have done so incredibly well. I am so excited to hear all the stories and look at all the photos. Like Kristin said, I'm not sure we will ever fully comprehend what this journey was like for you, but I'd love to just listen and soak up everything you have to say! So, one small stretch to go-continue to rely on God for courage and strength. I'm sure both of you have experienced Him in a very real way this last week. Missing you both and loving you LOTS!

I continue to pray for you both and that the remaindure of the trip would be AWESOME! God bless, Shannon & crew

Carson, So glad to read your blog this morning, mom and I worried all night. We are so proud of you, both of us knew you would not give in. We will be celebrating with you when you come home next week, Mom and Cherise are hatching surprises. Miss you lots, FINISH BIG! Congrats to Blain for his amazing run! Love Dad.

Wha a relief you guys must feel after that gruelling "moonwalk." A day off will feel like heaven and you definitely deserve it.. All of us here are so relieved with and for you. Congratulations on your determination and perserverance. Blain, we will celebrate Father's Day with you in mind. But when you are back here we'll relive Father's Day with you and Mr. Steak and Mrs. Beer. Even though you are not yet a father, Carson, you are not excused. We'll toast you with steak and beer as well. Finish strong, boys, and then we'll celebrate.

Hi guys. Jesus wandered in the desert for 40 days and 40 nights. You up for that?! :) Well there is an ice cold beer waiting you you, Davis, in the fridge (and one for Carson too). You guys have blown my mind this week. So excited to hear about all your experiences but I remember how it was when Blain came back from the Sahara. As you are so physically and mentally exhausted, the stories will trickle out slowly over the next days and weeks. You 2 have shared an experience which i believe will bond you forever. The rest of us can hear about it and say congrats but only you 2 and the other competitors will ever really know what it was like (I've said this before: I liken it to labour and childbirth but a REALLY LONG one :) And just like the challenge of labour, when asked if you'd do it again, part of you screams NO! but the pain will be forgotten and the joy of accomplishment does eventually take over. Carson i can't speak for you, but I know you Blain. You will do Chile. I have no doubt. I hope both of you have absolutely no regrets. We are so proud of you. Veni, vidi, vici (as Julius Caesar, would say- "I came, I saw, I conquered) but we really know that the glory of all this goes to God who has sustained you. Looking so forward to seeing you. All our love, Kris, Evan and Jack.

Hi Blain and Carson, I just read your Stage 5 blog. I cried reading most of it. So glad you are both safe. Our prayers continue - you've come sooooo far. I had blogged on Stage 4 not knowing Stage 5 was up already. Hang in there. You can taste the finish already right? Time of Stage 6 doesn' matter - really! Love you - mom Laser

17 June 2009 09:19 am (GMT+08:00) Beijing, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Urumqi

Wow! Day four was by far the hardest day for me. The first stage we climbed up to heavens gate. The view was awesome. The second stage was constant up and down as we crossed a mountain range. My feet are in bad shape and full of blisters and drilled toenails. I ended up coming in 60th. A little dissapointing but considering my feet I guess it's alright. Actually that is my prayer request for the long day tomorrow. Everything else is feeling ok. Cherise you had asked what we do after the run. Normally we usually just hang out, eat, talk, rest in the tent, hobble around etc. Well here's Blain, love you guys and Reese I miss you the most!

Hi Everyone - as Carson has said today was tough.  We climbed up to "heaven's gate" which was breath taking in its view and breath taking literally.  From there we decended to just go back up and then down and up and then down - you get the point. Yet again went through a dried riverbed decent and then into a village.  I took a million more pictures and ended up enjoying the day all said and done.  I think because of the climb I was able to keep with a few of the faster runners and some of the other ones that I'm normally with were hit hard by the altitude.  I chased Danny from the US for about 7 km from the finish line and about 1 km out caught him and ran in with him to finish tied for 17th place- my best placing yet. Because of all the climbing it was a slower day for everyone and I managed to finish just over 7hours which seems long but was pretty good.  No blisters and my feet are feeling good - legs are a little sore but not even a limp!  Carson is doing well and will be able to tuff it out tomorrow.  Thanks for all the emails and blog responses Carson and I appreciate them!  Evan & Jack - I'll be home soon pray that daddy has a good day tomorrow!  Kristin love you so much!  Miss you big.  Mom & Dad thanks for the email - you're so high tech these days!

Carson and Blain, The longest march is DONE. You probably also feel DONE. Carson, we were anxious for you - the time didn't show for a really long time, then this morning Cherise said your time was posted. WOW - YOU DID IT! So proud of both of you. Get much deserved rest and who cares how long it takes to do the last 10 km. The finish line is IN SIGHT. May our good God - give you for one more march ALL you need. We continue to pray unceasingly. You two are AMAZING! Gentle hug, Mom Laser

Posted On: 19 Jun 2009 03:38 pm

YOU DID IT CARS! I knew it I knew it! The first thing that I did this morning was check up on you. You are both amazing! Good Job! The rest will be a walk in the park...if the park is like a desert:) I'm pretty sure that I can say with confidence that you have defeated the Gobi. Nothing can touch you now! Rest up and finish your last stage and come home safe. We all love you!

Posted On: 19 Jun 2009 01:25 pm

Amazing job, Blain and Carson. I have been nearly glued to the computer since the long stage started, clinging to the hope that I would see you both complete that "unending" stage. Can't say in words how proud I am of you both, you will just have to wait for the bear hug that will greet you at the airport. You are so close to coming home. Hang in just a bit longer and as the race comes to a close tomorrow, savour the moments and the relationships you have forged with people. You guys have SO much to celebrate. Enjoy it. We praise God that you have avoided serious injury and that He has given you the strength to finish. We are ALL so proud of our boys and look forward to seeing your stubbly faces soon :) Much love, Kris.

Posted On: 19 Jun 2009 06:53 am

Hey my boys!!!! I've been so obsessed with checking all day! I think I"m about to throw this computer at the wall!!!! :) Just kidding Cars. BLAIN!!! TOP 20!!! You guys are both doing so great. Cars, as I read this your time is not yet posted. It seems like they are really slow with their updates. The updates end JUST above your name, and everyone's time below you is not entered. What a tease! Carson, I had a fantastic time with your parents tonight. We did a lot of laughing, praying and chatting, but also expressed a lot of anxiousness to see that you made it safe and sound-feet still intact:) EVERYONE has been praying and just willing God's strength to touch you. You both are such hero's. 10 more to go. You are so close to finishing I'm sure you can taste it! LOVE YOU. See you in 4 sleeps.

Posted On: 19 Jun 2009 06:36 am

Hey Boys, way to go!!! Glad that you are both still doing well and hanging in there. You two keep up the great work and try not to be discouraged, you can do this thing!!! I'm proud to have such amazing brother-in-laws, take it easy and try to rest your feet as much as possible. Every step, is a step closer!

Posted On: 19 Jun 2009 04:51 am

Hey Boys; well it's not going to be long now! Blain I'm so proud of you. Cars, I have a feeling that I'll be up through the night to check on that status of yours:) I am so amazingly proud of the both of you. Blain - for the way that you've obviously pushed yourself this year, and Cars - for being a newbie at this and accomplishing all that you have despite all of the obstacles you have had to overcome! I Love you Both! Just a small word of encouragement...our school is doing a 1 km run (you must be bawking right now...) and I was running alongside some guys who didn't see the point in this little exercise or maybe that was just covering up the fact that they were so tired...and I told them all about you guys and what you have been up to this week! You should have seen their eyes!! Round like saucers! Well they picked up their pace, and ended up coming in first of their class! hah hah. I'd like to think I had something to do with it, but the truth is...your stories are amazing and inspiring. Whether your a little boy whose dad went off to run for you, a nurse whose husband went to run for his nephew, or a kid you don't even know running a 1 km race. I Love You Boys. So...having said that "make impossible your favorite word, welcome the challenge because when you bring your heart and mind to your intentions there's nothing you can't accomplish" -Jillian Michaels (Ok ok she may be a bully, but THAT's a GREAT quote) You guys are living proof of it! Hi Daddy. I love you and I miss you. Mommy says you finished the hardest part and that I have to go to bed. I got 2 goals at soccer yesterday and I ran really hard, just like you. We went to Dairy Queen. Did you find the Dairy Queen in the desert yet or are you still looking? Uncle Carson, Mommy says that maybe I won't understand what you and Daddy are doing for me yet, but that one day I will when I'm bigger. But I LOVE YOU.

Posted On: 18 Jun 2009 11:02 pm

Congratulations Blain!!!! This 80 K is behind you. We are obsessed with checking for further results and are anxiously awaiting your blogs to "hear from you both". Trusting God who is bigger than us and the Gobi. You are always on our minds and in our hearts!! Lots of Love and Prayers, Chris Lueck

Posted On: 18 Jun 2009 08:27 pm

Hi guys, I am praying that day 5 will be overcome. I have been contantly checking results here in the office and I now see that Blain has finished. Way to go! Carson, hope this message reaches you when you have put this 80K behind you. May God give you the strength and will to succeed. Miss your calls. Love, Dad.

Hi guys, at this point in your day you are dragging through the last hours of Stage 5. I'm praying for you and your feet! Much love from all of us in Calgary.

Posted On: 18 Jun 2009 04:38 pm

Blain and Carson I am feeling that so many of us are running this marathon with you - but of course without the pain - just in our spirit and thoughts. I could not sleep well last night so I prayed for you all night - just asking God to give you exactly what you needed at that very moment. I know soooo many people are praying you guys through this. You continue to amaze me - both of your results are astounding. You are already heroes and have not yet finished the run. I just checked the results this morning and Blain you time is already posted - Thank you God he is alive and still an "A" next to his name. That's what the "A" stands for right???? :) Blain you are incredible. Carson, I prayerfully will check to see the "A" next to your name - the time does not even matter for me and neither should it for you. You are so incredibly amazing to not give up -even though I know your feet must be aching a lot - I can't even imagine. Everything in life will seem easy after this experience. The long day is done - the last stage is very near. WE ARE SO PROUD -everyone at work is cheering for you guys - they are in awe of what my sons-in-law are accomplishing. I will pick Evan & Jack up from school today - I always have such a great time wth them, they are so excited to talk about what dad and Uncle Carson are doing. Mondays coming - you will see your families and sleep in your own comfortable beds snuggled by your wives. Keep that thought in your minds when you start the last Stage of your run. We KNOW wth God's help YOU CAN DO THIS. Hugs from mom Lily

Blain, Just in case we were not already following your race with great interest, your very proud dad called to make SURE. The thoughts and best wishes of some of your Ontario cousins (Jack's family) go with you in this incredible race.

Hi Carson and Blain, May you feel all our many prayers carrying you as you focus on the reason for running. Our spirits continue to run along side of you. Thank you for your strength and determination. Love you guys!! Chris Lueck

Hey Guys! You're doing fantastic, I'm so proud of you! I'm reading all these stories about people dropping out of the race, saying it was too hard. They just don't have your determination. I will be praying for you extra hard tomorrow on your loooooooong run!

Posted On: 18 Jun 2009 01:20 am

Wow guys.Dad&I are busting at the seams for you both.Dad has phoned everyone in Ontario he is burning up the wires. Great job your both in our thoughts & prayers. Safe journey tomorrow.Love you from high tech Mama&Dad.

Hi Carson! I'm so glad we can read up on how you're doing. It sounds really tough but I'm proud of you. Both Jay and I are praying for you and can't wait to hear all the experiences you're having. We'll see you soon! Love you!

Hi dad. I miss you. Now Mom is writing this for me because I got frustrated that it takes to long to type it out for me. I hope you had a good day. We can\'t wait til you come home but I think you are doing something important. I am fine and Jack is fine. Jack\'s birthday party is at Let\'s PLay on Saturday and yesterday we went to Logan\'s for dinner. It was fun. School is almost done. Summer is almost here. But I think Mom is even more happy about that than me. I hope you and Uncle Carson don\'t give up. We pray for you every night after we read your letters. I love you and Jack does too.

Posted On: 17 Jun 2009 10:44 pm

Hey boys, I diddo what Kris says about the "ball of emotions" we feel back at home for you guys. Worried, anxious, homesick for you, but mots of all so impressed, proud and amazed. It's sometimes hard to write the emails/blogs cuz it's so hard to know what you may be NEEDING to hear. But I guess just knowing that you are constantly in my thoughts and prayers is enough. By reading some other peoples blogs, the ones who have withdrawn or are considering it, you can hear the despair in their tone, and I've just been praying for ALL the competitors-that no one is badly inured etc. But when I read your guys' blogs, you always sound upbeat, and relatively very positive. So that is so reassuring. You guys can do this thing! 2 more stages to go. And although stage 5 may be the longest/most challenging--(considering all the stressors that are put on your bodies like altitude sickness, less oxygen %, and those stupid blisters!, I KNOW and truly believe you guys have what it takes. Exactly what it takes:) Remember that smiley little face that you are doing this for! Love you lots guys!

Posted On: 17 Jun 2009 09:49 pm

Wow you guys! Awesome Job! I can tell that Heaven's Gate definately was not all that easy! Kind of ironic isn't it!? I am just so amazed by the both of you. Rankings aside...I think they should "knight" you for even finishing this blasted race:) You guys have been on my mind pretty much all day. Just thinking about what you might be doing right now and hoping that you're feeling okay. Just wait..it won't be long before both of you will be at home with your gorgeous wives and sipping coffee (Blain) and eating pillsbury apple streusel turnovers (carson):) Tim and I love you guys immensely, and brag to everyone that we know about you! May God give you the strength to keep going! May he feel extra close to you over the next few days as you take in His amazing creation (yes...even the rocks:) and as you realize just how much he has already obviously sustained you. Now go out there tomorrow and kick some butt!!

Posted On: 17 Jun 2009 07:53 pm

Howdy Blain and Carson, You guys are amazing, way to go! Am thinking of you and cheering for you, you were made to do this! God speed, Sam

Posted On: 17 Jun 2009 05:11 pm

Hi boys. The blogs get posted for us here at home around 10 am. Since I don't work in the morning, I'm always the first one who gets to comment. Other blogs are saying the same as you: this one was tough. Way to go guys. You have finished another day, and after tomorrow, you can start to really see the finish line. Hang in there. Blain - miss you more than I thought possible. You're my best friend (..and you're mine too Copper...:) and it's hard to be alone with my thoughts in the evening. I worry, I'm proud of you, anxious and excited for you all in one tiny ball of emotions. It just proves to me yet again that there is no one in this world I'd rather be with than you. I miss our talks over evening coffees. and I'll bet you just miss coffee altogether, right? I've read that there is a lot of talk among people about cravings for favorite foods. I will make you ANYTHING you want when you get home..name it! So pleased about your feet :) Stay strong and be safe. Prayers are constant as you head into the long stage. Carson - Great job finishing today. I can't even begin to imagine the physical toll and emotional roller coaster involved in days like today. You are in 48th place overall & that is awesome!!!!! Everytime i read about the names of those who have pulled out..I know I'll likely not be seeing yours. You are so determined and set to see this through. Evan, Jack & i continue with our little "shoe prayers". if you haven't yet got the email about that, it may not yet make sense. Just know you are on our minds often. Love you guys....lots and lots and lots.

Posted On: 17 Jun 2009 04:57 pm

Hello Carson, just read your blog, and man, I cannot believe how much effort this must be taking. Carson, I am so proud of you, no matter where you come in on a stage. I always know that you will do what it takes to finish. I hope and pray that the long day tomorrow will be your best day yet. Love you, Dad. Also praying for Blain, may you also be blessed.

16 June 2009 07:39 am (GMT+08:00) Beijing, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Urumqi

Hi everybody, just finished day 3. First two checkpoints we ran through farmers fields and small towns which was really neat. The weather was cloudy and overcast as well so it was nice and cool. A nice break from the heat. I ran the first 11km in one hour five minutes which was really good for me. By stage three we were in a dry riverbed again and the rocks were not good for my feet. I now have blisters on top of blisters. More taping tonight. Overall I feel pretty good. My knee is remarkably strong which is a blessing. The main concern is the feet. Still having lots of fun meeting people from all over the world. Reese I love you I will see you soon...

Blain here - I had a pretty good day.  Infact I was saying to myself through the morning "I'm having a good day!"  I got to run with my brother in law through to the 2nd check point.  I took a million pictures of little old women with gold teethe, farmers and little kids playing.  We ran through farmer feilds and got our feet wet for the better part of the morning.  At CP2 Carson and I split and I went ahead up (you guessed it - a dried up river bed)  up to CP3 felt great and was able to count 20 people within about 1km ahead of me and thought I'd be able to catch a few.  However, that was until I came up the longest road ever that wound its way up a mountain to 7000 feet coming in 29th.  So it was a great day all said - no blisters, it wasn't hot and I got to run with Carson.  I checked on Darren to see where he was at since we ran most of yesterday together but he was in a bad way.  I walk a couple K down to wait for him after a couple of hours being in and waited for him.  He rolled in hindered by some bad feet and we walked together up to the camp.  He'll rest up and be ready to tackle the stage tomorrow.  Tomorrow is up to "heaven's gate" - a little hard on the lungs.

So thanks guys for all the well wishes.  I'm doing well, legs are a little heavy from all the pounding on the rocks but no blisters except for tiny one.  I'm taking pictures each day to prove it to my wife!

Jack & Evan - daddy misses you so much!   I thought about you alot today!  I made a video yesterday for you, I hope you're able to see it.  Kristin - can't say how much I miss you but know that youre cheering me on the whole way!  Love you babe.

Remember to think about giving to find a cure for my sons disease - as I said on the video, I wish him to have many, many birthdays!  See www.gobi4cf.com to see how you can support our cause.

Until tomorrow - Blain

You're running a great race Blain and Carson! And you're seeing so many different sights. Awesome! We enjoy reading your daily account. Here's something I heard the other day from Pastor Mark Hughes. He was talking about having a "Faith Lift" and he said that faith has 3 components: 1) Confidence in God and not just self-confidence. 2) Endurance, and 3) Obedience. Well guys, we have faith in you also because you are demonstrating 1) Confidence in God who gave you the discipline to train your bodies for strength. You are also demontrating 2) Endurance because this race is no romp in the park, And finally, you are 3)Obedient to your mission of raising awareness and financial support for the fight againt cystic fibrosis. Just a few more days and you will be able to claim victory over the Gobi Monster. We pray for you and are sending you strong signals of support and encouragement. Seize the Day my friends and rest your bodies by night. Rick

Praying for you, and like it hasn't been said enough, KEEP GOING! k guys...J again...im sure none of us realize how hard this trip is for you both, so we cant understand the pain, but im sure we also cant understand the joy that you are receiving/will receive. find what it takes to smile.

We are hanging out tonight, and thinking of you guys! We love and miss you both. Carson, mom has ben praying soooo much for your knee-she says she will switch focus to your feet now! No, we will continue to pray for you in ALL areas- your physical and mental and emotional strength Blain, Your birthday message was so sweet to Jack. Kris and I watched it about 3-4 times just so she could hear your voice:) We both have a couple donations coming in from our workplaces. So that is great news towards the cause that you guys are so fervently running for. Keep it up. You are more then halfway DONE as I type this. Mom says "go make a difference" :) PS: I just ran on a very comfortable concrete sidewalk for approx 30 minutes, and in very comfortable weather conditions too! -and that pretty much did me in-all I can say is that you guys amaze me everyday. WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Carson!! Go Blain!! I feel like I've gone back in time by about 15 years and I'm cheering for you at your hockey game Carson. You 2 make us so proud. May God continue to provide strength as you run through multiple blisters and some aches and pains. Blain - great video for Jack. Not too many little boys can say that their dad ran through the desert for them on their birthday!! I've been keeping people posted at work and at least one more person is interested in making a donation. Our thoughts and prayers never leave you. Our spirits are running with you. Mom and Dad Lueck

Hey you guys! I am so glad that you are both safe and that your knee is holding up so well Cars! I am sitting here in school.. (not on a break...whoops) and every day John (the boy that I work with) and I check out to see how you guys are doing. Well, guys, you are nearly halfway there. You have both covered approx. 120km out of the 250km. And you are doing brilliantly, we all think so. Blain, I was so happy to see your video last night. Showed it to the boys this a.m. and they responded as you probably would guess. Evan's eyes glistened with tears and he struggled to hold it together. He misses you so. Jack, ever the realist, says "nice, but when is Daddy gonna shave?" :) I know he misses you too. Today he said, "I wish I could snuggle with Daddy on the couch." I am astounded with your performance in this race. But I am even more pleased to see that your morale and spirits are so high and that you seem to be savoring the little moments as you plod along. Remember, the journey IS more important than the destination. Keep going, Davis -you are a hero to us all. Carson, what can I say? Every day, i check up on you and am blown away. You are such an inspiration to me. You followed this dream and it is amazing to see how you are rising above the huge challenges you are faced with everyday. God has answered our prayers about the knee so we are now gonna pray for those blisters. I'm sure Blain is telling you that his were even worse in the Sahara, but I know they must hurt. They WILL heal (as Mom would say "this too shall pass" :) and you will have awesomely grotesque stories to freak us girls out when you get home. Can't wait. Love you both. You are always on my mind and heart.

Hi everybody! Its really nice to get all your messages. Today was hot. Around 50 degrees in the canyon. My knee is still good but my feet are starting to hurt. Have lots of blisters and had to get a toenail drilled today. Probably more will have the same fate. Still feeling relatively fresh, was able to run at the end. Also, after today, I hate rocks! I miss you all and love you lots. Reese cant wait to get home and see you again. Here is Blain...

Hi Everyone - I dido what Carson said - Rocks Suck!  I had a good day, legs felt a little sore going into the day from all the ROCKS!  Only one small blister and I think that was from my tape falling off from the river crossings yesterday.  The scenery here is amazing - truly breath taking.  The people here are great as well, they have such great features.  Theyre often not too sure of the crazy white people running by but usually get a smile out of them when you try to give them a high five.  I danced with little girls yesterday and played a game of speed patty cake and lost with a boy Evans age.  We stayed in a cool house yesterday instead of our tents and tonight we are in the middle of a wheat feild.  The terrain today was pretty hard - lots of climbing more of a hike than a run.  It was really hot in the canyons where the wind would die down and it was like an oven.  I ran today with Darren from Australia who is also running to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis.  He  gave me a real moral boost when he came up and said the Kristin had sent him an email to cheer him on - good job dear!  Team Silver bill lives on boys - thanks for the emails you dirty rotters who should be here right now!!!  Thanks for all the emails and well wishes - we can see the blog replies now just to let you know.  Kristin I love all your emails - keep them coming.  You would be proud of me - I stopped to fix my gators and check my feet!  Jack & Evan - daddy misses you very much and I hope you are being good boys for mommy!  Big hugs to you!!!

Remeber everyone - Carson and I are running this for Cystic Fibrosis research, if you can give please do - check out www.gobi4cf.com to see how.

Cheers everyone

Hey Carson and Blaine! Keep up the good work. Thinking about you guys lots and have my small group praying for ya'll. One of my favorite quotes that you guys are living out right now is - "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but in moments of trial and controversy." Thanks for being good role models and coaches to us all. Its inspiring. Keep going;) !!!!

Hey boys! I'm happy that the tone of your blog is high-spirited. You guys are both doing extremely well. Cars, I'm sorry to hear about your toenails though. Make sure you take the time to stop and empty out the sand etc...Man, I'm nagging you even when you are half way around the world!!! I just want to be there and take care of you!!!! It's probably from all the river beds you have had to cross hey? And then your feet just stay damp. I'm so glad you knee is holding up. Blain, Jack's soccer game was great tonight. He scored once-and was always in there, after the ball. He did really well. Your boys miss you, and they love reading the daily notes you wrote them. They get HUGE smiles on their faces. Okay guys! Love you lots.

Great job guys, I am amazed at the discipline you guys have shown so far. I cannot imagine the supreme effort this must take. I am extremely proud of you both. Carson, you astound me daily. Love, Dad.

Yeah! I love reading your blogs, boys. It's so good that you are both well. I hear there is some nasty stuff going around camp. ??? We'll keep hoping you can avoid it. All is well on the home front here. Missing you lots, and VERY proud of our guys. Carson- wow, drilling toenails :) I guess you are in good company. Sounds like the rocks were miserable. But it is so awesome that the knee is holding up. I know that Reese misses u a ton and that she is your #1 fan (Milo is #2, of course) Blain- it's hard to imagine you've been gone less than a week. Seems like forever ago that we sent you on your way. i hope it is shaping up to be an incredible experience and journey for you. Interested to hear how it compares to the Sahara. (Are you missing your spooning sessions with Adam and Giles, maybe? Or have you found some other poor English bloke? :) Stay strong, you guys. Remember- we are behind you and support you all the way. No matter if you run, walk or crawl to each finish line. Much love to you both.

Hi everyone! Well day 1 is complete. My knee held up very nicely. The course was very rocky so  my ankles are a bit sore but other than that Im good. Got a bit dehydrated in the second section which slowed me down but Im doing well now. I love you Reese. You keep me going! Here is Blain

Hi guys - good day although the 2nd half was a bit hard with lots of dried up river beds making it a bit of a challenge.  Cramped up a bit but overall it was a good run.  Ended up placing 19th I think.  Happy birthday Jack!  Glad you liked your present. Evan I heard you had a sleep over party - wow!  Hope you had fun!  Love you Kris - Miss you like mad!  Mom & Dad the boy is doing good!  Thanks or the emails - keep them coming.
