I forgot to thank so many other people....

My tent mates. Andrew, Ben and Olaf. Specially Olf, who unfortunately became ill and could not complete the race but lent me his poles allowing me to complete the race easier.

All of these have been a great read Nigel. Thank you for sharing, all very inspiring. Looking forward to hearing more. Also, I cant wait to find out how even though there are no hot meals, dry clothes or any type of showers - that you manage to update a daily blog for the whole world to see?! Good work.

Stage 3 started by climbing up the side of a mountain for 255 meters, ~750 ft. The climb was single file and, in many areas, meant climbing using hands and knees. As you know I am not good with heights at the best of times so this was...a mental challenge to say the least.

The next joy was over 3 km through rolling sand dunes. This really takes it out of the calves and thighs. Just when you think you have reached the end you cross the precipice and there is another dune to cross...never ending!

To top the day off about 6 miles from the end the rain started. I am soaked, my clothes are soaked and we have no way to wash them or get showered. This is going to be a fun night in the tent.

I know of 6 people who have dropped out so far but I expect that number to grow today.

Tomorrow is the long day, 47 miles. I just hope the weather clears up!

76 miles completed, ~80 to go...

Thanks for the comments Nick and Chris!
