An emotional lump in my throat. Firstly I just want to thank everyone for your comments and messages of encouragement , when you are down in the dumps, aching, no real will to carry on that simple note really does put the pieces back together. Ive read all your notes and really believe that you were the Final % that got me over the line. Thanks again xxx

That was a very heroic and beautiful blog about all the beautiful people that you have had the privilege to have met. I think that all of you should be so proud of yourselves for just doing it. It doesn't matter where any of you finish its the fact that you DID IT that's important.

Not sure what day it is to be honest, all I know is ive managed the 40k in blistering heat and im now on for the final 80- the long march. I have to figure out how to spread three painkillers out over 80 k as ive been using three over 40k

i think it's fair to say that we have all taken great inspiration from your tenacity and commitment to not give up on this thing despite carrying an injury since day 1. I so hope to be reading tomorrow that you beat the arse out of the long march because that means you've got this in the memory bag for ever more. Respect mate. massive, massive respect. See you in the BnG. Champagne supernova!

I remember walking on Bradford rd behind my mum constantly being told to speed up, I could do with one of those clips round the ear holes right now. Not to dwell but to say im in bits is an understatement, knee barely works and I now have more tape on my toes than a VHS factory. To finish this epic journey now needs a miracle or some old fashion grit.

Amazing to get through the day Legs, that's something to remember today and tomorrow; "Oi, Look how hard I am!'. I had similar in Gobi, could hardly walk down any hill and the second half of the long day was all down hill. if I can make it, you can! Had to take a lot of pills though, but it was worth it. And i reckon you get more out of it by stripping down to basic pain on legs and grinding it out. Stripping and a grinding... Good luck!

You're nearly there chap. Think of Brucie and Jenny. I am sure you can keep the sympathy vote up for ages after this, and at least you can say to Graham. "Yes but you didn't do the Gobi did you, now get on with those fries." You know you can do it, keep meeting those people and rest as much as you can in base camp. The boys are proud and were worried yesterday, at one point I thought Scott was going back out into the darkness to rescue you, but you know how he doesn't like to make friend so probably wise he didn't if you had a new found friend. What an experience x Just imagine how many stories you will have to tell about what you've seen and experienced, maybe leave the toilet experience for closer friends. Now SPEED UP and get on with it..... Well done champ. Molly and Georgie xx

You've got this mate......pain is all in the mind as Tim says! And honestly its amazing how much your body will put up with so keep pushing it... Not to mention you're a stubborn Ass so i have absolute confidence you'll be there at the end....pretty sure Ludy will keep you in good spirits. Say hi for me......

Tim Cairns

It's all in the mind my friend. Don't stop. Just get to thext tree, or rock or whatever you can see. Then the next one. Then the next. Your blog actually sounds more high spirited than the others despite your pain so I know you have this. Stay strong legs. No surrender.

Ewwwww--- please do not wear flip flops when you are back because I do not need to see the nastiness!!! Are you guys crazy? yes! Are you going through some weird mid-life crisis? yes! But you will look back at this and be s proud that you've done it as many would not have. keep it up rich you can do it!!!!

Ross Carter

Well done Legs, the course looks horrible (no one likes horrific inclines at the start of the day) and it sounds like your feet are getting a battering. No doubt the challenges will keep coming! You're doing awesome, a top 50 finish more than on the cards!

Paul Taylor

Posted On: 21 Jun 2016 01:16 am

Talking horses on stage 2, that'll work! Must be all that fresh air.. or that you're actually out there doing it. And having fun, despite the aches. Lots of pills, that was Tim's strategy for the pains, lots and all the time. Not recommended though!.. Not many days left now, each day is a 5 or 6 hour challenge, and you'll be back in the B&G before you know it. Best be quick, England might not still be in at this 0-0 rate.

Hallucinating. Good work. Sounds like you're in the right head space to tear the arse out of it mate. Keep on keeping on, you're doing a fantastic job, unlike England. To continue a theme, how's the shit house for you?? Enjoy.
