OK, So yesterday we started the long march at 7am! I can honestly say that I have never experience anything even close to yesterday. Essentially we had 80km of horizon, horizon, horizon and horizon until it was too dark to see the horizon the we followed glow sticks for hours on end! The terrain was very flat and the temperature when we start at 7am was already in the 30

Parrot head I'm so proud of you. Love you so much. Grandad would be so proud of you right now and he's watching you every step of the way helping you along and laughing at you moaning about bloody blisters. What your doing is an inspiring thing and I'll always look up to you for it so keep going parrot the end is near Can't wait to hear all about it when you finish X

Well done Morse........i feel your pain although I have to say I have never had a celebrity blister before! The main thing is you have done the hardest but now.....that last gentle stroll you can just relax and take your time....enjoy the moment. It really is an awesome achievement for all you boys... Most importantly of all there will be a nice beer and a medal waiting for you at the finish line... Can't wait to catch up and hear all about it.

Brexit didn't spoil my day or the other 17 million people who voted. Maybe people like your dad will get better treatment now that we are not treating ever one else. That aside please remember THAT YOUR DAD WOULD BE SO HONOURED TO HAVE DONE SO many wonderful things with you

Top effort Morse. Forget the pain and get the job done pal ... then massively get on it ! Brexit has pretty much ruined everyone's day so enjoy the charms of the mountains , sand and scenery before back to reality. Cheers JF

So Day 4 completed! Christ what a day! Basically they just kept pointing us at the horizon and saying run that way! Very long flat section of really rubbly desert! Me and Readie again spent the whole day out there together finishing 33 & 34. Whilst a bit further down the field than we have been it was a fairly positive day except the last 3km for me where I struggled! It was really good having Readie there to get me to the finish! We have worked very well together the last 2

The BnG awaits. Hopefully you are reading this having cleaned up the long march. I also hope you and Readie stop holding hands on saturday and make a race out of it. you know he'll try and trip you up in the sprint to the finish! Great effort mate. i doubted the wisdom of brisbane the weekend before but only because I briefly forgot about the machine like tendencies of the Morse!! fantastic effort.

Keep going Scott, almost there! Sounds like you are all doing amazingly well. One final push and you will be able to say you conquered this. I may even buy you a pint in the BNG (unlikely, but thought I would throw it out there!). Treat that blister and see you soon!

You are doing fabulous , everyone here are so proud of you and your friends . When you are doing this like you are walking from Birmingham to home on a Saturday night (very drunk) and you are signing and weaving all over the pavements that could take a while and you could think of signing (in your head of couse) Love you always MUM xxxxc

Hopefully you'll read this before you set off for the long old journey but don't give up,(Just keep swimming/marching, as Dory would say! ha ha sorry) go for it you'll have an adrenalin overload at camp tomorrow, just make sure no one is too close. I am excited and nervous for you. I wish I could be there so you could inspire me on and I you. "It has to burn" it all I hear when I am about to stop on my measly 5km runs. (Advice you gave to me when I tried to wimp out) So I am saying the same, although it's probably burning a tad more. It can't be as painful as the taxi ride I had today….. Take care of each other and take your time. To finish it is an enormous achievement and we are excited the end id near as we will see you very soon. Love you to the Gobi, Across and back xxxxx

Alex Moran

'The Machine'.......so i see today you took pitty on Readie and agreed to walk with him. To be honest i think under these circumstances its possibly the only time you'd be happy to have him accompany you....i can just imagine the random film and sporting trivia 'Stato' would be coming out with..... Seems like reading all your Blogs today everyone found today brutal and looking at the pictures I can see why......main thing is though that's another day done!!!! Only a couple left now and your are all half way through. Remember....there is always light at the end of the tunnel!!

Paul Taylor

Despite the darkness, 27th rocks! Though having Oli nick you at the end is worth giving him a punch on thigh. Heard you guys are going well today, similar placings at CP2 where Sam was. Get to camp quickly today, then you know you've (almost) cracked it. Just one day tomorrow, a long day right, then you're done. That thought and the idea of some cold beers the day after should help drag you up when you're it's dark!

Claire Cairns

Posted On: 22 Jun 2016 01:02 am

Good luck tomorrow for the long march, just think of the cold refreshing beer that awaits and a vodka soda chaser just for you! You are doing amazingly well. The extra run you did in the action asia race to find the additional not needed pig is really paying off :-)

Tim Cairns

Posted On: 21 Jun 2016 11:55 pm

The darkness makes you stronger and the experience all the better to reflect on. Easy for me to say and probably you're sitting there saying, jog on. But now you have just one long walk to the pub and it's done. As Chigs likes to remind me, pain is weakness leaving the body. Not sure he feels the same way after a pint glass to the back of the head though. You've got this by the balls. Squeeze!!

Hey Monkey, You are challenging yourself to the max, keep it going. Think of all the different weather challenges you've have gone through, Amazing!. We have been looking at the pictures and are jealous of the scenes you have been through, not the pain. You are almost there. We are missing you lots. Molly's asks every morning when you're back from the "Obi" Molly still hates the swim instructor. Even to the point of trying to drown her with splashes. hmmmm and telling her she is not happy with her. I may have to try a new one or a group session. My studying has started, which is interesting. Tried to study by the pool yesterday whilst Molly was at school but woke up 45 minutes in. Looking forward to your return so we can run the Dragons Back, ha ha I am sure that's not going to happen for a few weeks. Mandarin Oriental is booked for Monday. Miss and Love you lots Georgie and Molly xxxxx (She said "Don't forget the sand Dad) xxxxxxxx

Sandra Morson

You are doing wonderful , you need to think of the beautiful things that you do with George and Molly. After that think of all the stupid and funny things that you have done with Gas and the football guys as manic as you. These should keep a lot if the black thoughts away. Love you mum xxx

J F

Morse , the boys and yourself are doing a cracking job - keep the mental strength we all know you have. Perhaps as further inspiration you should picture Maksan 10 yards in front of you taking the piss ... or in times of weakness remember the all time get on stage in Jakarta. Those two thoughts alone will inspire a decent day 4. Will update you on the sport later. 25 mins in for the North vs the Germans - McGovern made 5 top saves. Sri Lanka scored 286-9 in their 50 overs. Hopefully we can overcome with strong batting line-up. Lastly let Reidy know Giggs is now the favourite to take over at our beloved club - that'll slow him down :) Good luck for stage 4. JF

Keep in mind how readie finished that Action Asia race in repulse bay! He Talked about us crossing the line together the whole way round then when it came to the crunch went for the sprint finish, pulling me back at same time! Great work Morse and look after those feet!

Tim beat me to it, you have totally avoided the photographer - shall mention to the boss... ! Otherwise, whose to know you're there! Sounds like a great 2nd day, even running?! Pack should be feeling lighter and you'll be more used to it too, so we're expecting to see you gain on Burkey, experience over youth. Good luck today

Tim Cairns

Scott Morson. Special forces. Totally evaded all forms of detection for 2 days. Are you paying the photographer to stay away from you? Cracking effort still. Time to up the ante and see what's left of Readie's hip flexor! Into the pain factory. Enjoy.

Nice one Morse ... day 3 always a good day to make yr mark ... anyway footy was as expected ... nil-nil against Slovakia ... Wales beat Russia 3-0 to top the group ... means we will have anyone out of group F in Nice ... Personally I'd prefer to play Ronaldo and his ego ... defo don't want Icelandics ... Dustin Johnson ended up winning the golf but all a bit farcical ; won't bore you with the details ... Nearly all cricket washed out today ... Go strong today pal , we're all following you ( esp Reidy ! :) JF

We woke up to a pretty cold morning and we were all very apprehensive but keen to get started. I personally felt pretty good for the first 2 check points but at check point 3 we were at the bottom of a huge sand dune which was whee the problems started for me. We had to make a very steep climb up this dune which resulted in some major cramping issues for me. I managed my way through this section but it meant that I had really trouble running after this however I managed to get a good march on at this point to get through to the finish! Amazingly I managed to finish 25th

Well done, Keep going xxx The Bar and Grill is waiting for Sunday when you can tell all the stories. Defo give Ready a hug but I am sure he's keeping his hands warm somewhere. Very proud of our 25th comer :) Get those ruffles down tonight so no more cramping in the morning. Also get yourself on the photos, legs is all over it. Lots of love xx

Amazing result on the first day, keep it up and I hope the cramps go away! Oli has been complaining on his blog that he is getting cold at night, I recommended a cuddle from you! Keep going and I hope day 2 was as good as day 1.

Paul Taylor

Haha, tim's comment was funny - he loves the toilet chat. I think he meant take the poles to the toilet, in case you cramp up and roll backwards... Great effort indeed today - 25th is amazing mate. nice to have Readie challenging - over 40s generally do better.... Heard there were some hills today, hope you take the electrolytes, they can help the cramp! Good luck!

Tim Cairns

Posted On: 20 Jun 2016 01:36 am

Wow - great effort mate. Good start. You've set the stall out to smash it now. Loving the toilet experience. I knew that would not be wasted on you. There is nothing better than squating in full view of everyone else, red in the face, standing over deep down gulfs of liquid shit! Don't forget your poles! They are life savers if cramping is happening. And all the best plans are in the BnG mate. You know it will come good if it started there!!

Great effort Morse , keep on trucking. Ronaldo had another shocker for Portugal - missed a peno. Iceland were brave again and unlucky to concede a late one for a draw. Lowry looks like he's going to win the golf. Sri Lanka beat Ireland in Malahide.

We arrived in Hami yesterday evening after a 14 hour trip to get here! Really not much to say about the place other than I'm fairly sure it's twin Towned with Basra! We had a lay over in Urumqi which was interesting to say the least! Our idea along with a number of other was to get to the train station and then grab so food.......lets just say that the fast food and take away options were basic to say the least!

Rugby in the bag. We won 23-7. Totally different game to the one you saw. This was like the battle of Rourke's drift! We had less than a third possession but still won. Camped in our 22 for huge chunks of the game. Amazing defence. Anyway, hope day one was ok. Basra and banana pizza sounds epic!! All you have to do is beat Readie ; )
