Crossy sensational stage five. The Kiwi diesel loco in full flight. Dinner Group will miss you tonight .. but we'll sample a few desserts - as opposed to deserts - that you can hook into when you get home! Hamish and Sarah.

I am a touch hesitant communicating with you given your potential state of mind. Assuming you are sound, I must reiterate that I think you are mad! I can say this having been across the Gobi Desert a number of times-but always in a plane. Regardless, enjoy the last couple of legs-nothing like a finish line to inspire the body-It may be mad, but you are doing an amazing thing. ssj

Nice work Crossy ! Sounds very similar to my day ... got up early ( 7am ! ) showered/shaved ( are you showering ? ) and took the gruelling 1 km walk down to the ferry. I knew I had a big day ahead of me, so I actually didn't do the walk, ... I got the Mrs to drop me off. Onto the 7.30 ferry. We had it all weather wise as well - Auckland weather obviously very similar to the Gobi ! started off beautiful, then the wind and rain arrived. Had to use an umbrella to shield myself from the elements .. it was tough but got to the office ok thankfully ! Anyway hope all well, and keep Grinding it out !

Finally arrived in Hami yesterday evening after 26 hours of travel. Hami is the base for the race - thought it was going to be a small town in the middle of nowhere but turns out to be a chaotic city in the middle of nowhere.
