Completed a 5 hour adventure race this week, pushed as hard as I could and we ended up 4th, which was better than anticipated. The body is holding up 2 days afterwards so I am happy with my recovery ability. Pushed hard in the race and whenever it got hard, I thought "well, it will be harder in China so best I get on with it".
9 weeks to go, am applying myself to getting some decisions made on my gear.
Dragging my daughter out for a walk with me today to at least get some training in.

Hi Jen, i have just participated in RTP Australia, my first such event. It was really tough, relentless heat and constant damp feet, but totally unforgetable. Although I had to pull out of the race after Stage 4 with infected blisters, I loved it and am looking forward to doing another in the not too distant future. Learn to look after your feet! I intend to before the next one. It was the make or break issue for many, many competitors in Oz. Good Luck, Margaret

Well I have signed up and committed, That has to be a good start right? I am going to be stretching mind, body and soul for this adventurous experience, and will be standing up for people who think they can't possibly achieve some of these thing in their life because of work, or family, or children or lack of fitness! I work full time, I am single, I have 2 children, I play social sport (mountainbike, netball, jog) and want to prove to myself and my children that barriers and
"I can't" mentality can be overcome....so here goes, with only 10 weeks to go I have a lot to sort out before I hit that start line !
