Hi Charles. Sitting in Dubai airport waiting for my last leg flight to Singapore to complete my 45 hour journey home. I trust you survived another night in San Pedro/Santiago before making your own way home?? I had such a different week than I expected, in many ways, but meandering round the desert with you, in various states of humour is something so surreal but rewarding that I will never forget. As I mentioned in the last few days. It was your heart, spirit and legs that got you through the Atacama Crossing. With just a simple bit of mental and physical pace-setting from yours truly. Just make sure you get your stomach sorted next time!! Looking forward to catching up some time in the near future. Best of Regards, Geoff.

I am happy with the way today went. I went as hard as I could without feeling I was jeopardising the next 5 days of running, which is the most important thing. The sun was out and there was a cool breeze, even if it was around 35 degrees. But it is super dry which makes it a lot better than it might be. The first stage, 36km, was meant to be 'moderate'difficulty. And it was, but for the final 10km which took forever, up a steep, steep, windy track surrounded by little hills. Mate, this is inspiring! You must be sapped of energy at the end of each day, but hope you can summon the focus and motivation to prepare and strategize for each next stage. Better than half-way now! So proud of you..."a bit of madness", indeed. Maybe more than your share... Godspeed!
