Fly out of Africa tonight and back to freezing cold Scotland to see my friends and family before the big event.  I'd like to say I'm ready....born ready...but this will be my biggest challenge to date.  Preparation going well -  I haven't had a beer in over 2 weeks and I've even cut down on my cheese burger consumption - no more Clubhouse scoffing on a Saturday / Sunday afternoon.  Running is going ok too.

I'd like to thank my good friend (maybe not after the race) and training buddy Pat Gray for getting me interested in all this desert stuff.  I certainly owe him one for getting me off the sofa and out on the open roads training again.
