Let me the first to share my bromance with Blain. He is the only guy out here in this God forsaken desert, that will turn from ranking in a 20th position on the long day to stop and walk with a fellow competitior for 40 kms. He shared all his electrolytes and his 2 powder meals to keep a new found friend in the race. I kid you not this man that drug me out to this place showed more heart than anyone else out here. Kristin Davis and boys you have every reason to be proud of your dad.
Jack Davis HOPE Foundation has brought me here to wander the desert for a short while to raise some money but the desert has made me think of what we stay so busy with daily is it really worth it in the end??? Do each of us daily make a serious difference in others lives??
Next point, tent #9 is off the hook, we have the brits from Wall Street that are beyond crazy, funny, and insanely loyal to tent 9. Hammer, thank you for sharing your fail at Iron Man Tremblant and your drive to destroy it in 15. Emily hats off to you girl that killed all stages as the fastest girl out here. Gregory I am sure you will continue on your Grand Slam and make your wife very proud. Becka you have been absolutely great being here and taking the abuse of the Brits.
I guess lesson learned in Chile if you don’t fail the odd time are you really pushing yourself???

Dear Atacama,
Be prepared to have your ass kicked
Sincerely

Stage 2 kicked both our tushes. We had a good first 2 check points, through the water and up the mountain. Had s bit of a photo shoot going down the sand dune with the photographer telling us to stop and start. We worked it. This should make the wives happy!
From check point 2-3 we slogged through death valley and then Colin decided to throw the ipod on and the turbo boos hit high gear for about 6km. Check point 3-4 absolutely sucked rocks, sand, more sand and a long paved road.

Day 2 was a little on the tough side, the first 11 kms were an absolute blast running thru the river and the canyons.
Complete birthday present. After the 1st check station all fun left and it was hell!!!! We had a hoot jumping down the 1000 ft high sand dune and that was a highlight as well. The heat was a killer today and the 44 kms linked to each other brought many moments where I drifted to thinking about families that I know that have lost their kids to a disease, at those moments as well as right now it brought tears to my eyes thinking about how many families walk thru pain that I know nothing about, the worst today was popping blood blisters and calling Blain a F&^%$#@ head for bringing me into this pain but truly I am honoured to walk thru this pain to be3 able to help the famililes thru the Jack Davis Foundation
Got go and eat and drink
God Bless & love to all
C
PS Ella I finished running for you today and strted on Hugo 60 k run today.
