Hopefully when you read this you will be celebrating the end of the long march and having a well deserved rest. Fantastic effort to you all! Amazing feat of endurance. We have certainly gathered that this race is a step up in terms of pain and determination. To the old addage that pain is temporary and the human brain has no memory of pain, I concur. I am reading about your pain and all I get is a slight twinge in my little toe but an overwhelming sense of wanting to do it again as you stir memories of mind over matter and camraderie. Because that's what really makes it. And the view! Well done boys, whatever the outcome, it's a journey that's worth traveling.

Day 3 is complete, can you believe it? Today was triple digits temperature, really hard terrain, and good old cry at the finish. The onlyway to end a really good, hard day.

We had a 14 run through some crazy ground and then went up, capping the day with another 14 miles through sand dunes, and mountains. Everyday they tell us it

Rob! Amazing job so far! Guess you finally get to experience a true hot and dry desert. Really wish I could be there to cheer you on in person, but still wanted to let you know I'm cheering you on from a land far away. Good luck with the of the race!!!!!

Buenos Dias Tent 10 comrades! Sending this to you all, individually – have just read your daily updates, you make it sound tough going, then I checked the photos… it looks tough, but also incredible! Very impressive to see that you’re all still in it, great effort to get this far. Reckon you can ease through Day 4 (remember it’s not a race .…well it is, but maybe not a sprint) and then you’ll be almost home. Probably the hardest two days ever are coming but as I know from gobi, you guys have what it takes. So dig deep and grin and bear it, wish I was there to show you how. Soon enough you’ll have an unbelievable story to tell. All the best Chigs

Hi everyone! Thank you for your awesome notes and comments.

Today went much smoother with a 21 or 22nd place finishing. A long way to go but definitely a step in the right direction. It was so much fun, I cant wait to tell you in person. We ran through rivers in canyons, past crazy giant boulders, and up up up a giant mountain, through a tunnel and then down a crazy sand dune. What a blast. Started to get really hot in the afternoon but just took it easy and chugged on through. Chuga chuga baby.

I think camp is the temperature of the sun. >105 in the tent!

We are looking forward to the sun going down.

The shoes are holding well. Only a small blister on the heel, but my toe nails are suergross again.

My bottle holder is fixed andjust had first dinner. Great posts Melissa, you are an awesome sister. Honey-don

Rob - nice! Tearing through the field. The HK tent 10 crew are following your progress with great excitement. We are also secretly glad to be holding cold beer rather than hiking poles in a baking hot desert!! It sounds amazing and amazingly hard all at the same time. Keep on smashing on! Send our best to the other boys - will try and share the blog message love around as the week commences.

Hi eveyone! I hope this blog finds everyone happy and healthy.

It took 2 days to travel to san pedro de Atacama in chile. What a fantastic place. There is an old town that looks like something out of the good the bad and the ugly. But instead of gunfights, there are cool shops and restaurants. There are hundreds of dogs, yes dogs, that seem to be community owned and very well fed. They even run with you when you go out on jogs.

Yesterday we arrived at camp 1. It is spectacular here. Think of the grand canyon on mars, only at very high elevation and brighter than anything we get in phoenix.

I had a rough day today on the course. Immediately, my backpack malfunctioned, yes honey it was the reworked bottle holder which impacted my running gate. My time was good until the final 3rd of the course. I ran out of water and overheated. Trudging up the last montain with martin from Canada. My good friend brett made sure I made it to the finalcheckpoint and another good friend inia took me the rest of the way. Checkpoint 3 had anamazing team that gaveme water, spritzedme, blaste music, and got me going, thanks mrbrammer and the checkpoint 3 team.

What a disappointment. Good thing we have 6 more days of this.

I Feel good now and will be ready to rock tomorrow. My plan is to easy jog checkpoint 1, assess, snd then kick it up for the last part of the course. Don

Rob, I had a similar bottle malfunction a while back and your right, it really impacts your running postion. Sounds like an amazing place ( and I dont mean just the toilets). Good luck with the rest of the race. Great you guys are looking out for each other.
