I have been keeping track of your progress daily, but I see that the blog has not been updated, so I hope all is well! Pam, everyone here at work is pulling for you!!! donni donni -
which means small small
and a good way to get through anything. It is also a good mantra donni donni (rhymes with pony pony).
Find out what small small is in the local language.
So proud of YOU!

Kris - I'm so sorry to hear about your injury!! Any injury, has to be a challenge under these circumstances! Keep up the great attitude and enjoy the part of the race you can participate in ... even just being there is such a great accomplishment for which you should be proud! Chin up & I'm sending only positive thoughts your way! Take care ~ Anne

Heya!
Just a little info on the village of TOCONAO. The word comes from the Kunzo language and it means "rincón perdido" in spanish, something like "lost corner". Hope you don't get lost in your tent. See you in Atacama.

Hi Pam and Kris, Tocanao has a long history with RacingThePlanet. In the Atacama Crossing 2004 we went through the village and we caught a lot of competitors stopping at a small store to buy ham and cheese sandwiches and Coca Cola. We won't actually be going through that town this year.

Haha - they may be hairy now, but wait until the mandatory full body wax - you did read about that in the rules didn't you Sharkey? I guess you can always do it in San Pedro if necessary.
But whatever you do, don't mention the Scots!
11 days to go :)

Pam and I are very fortunate to live in the Seattle area where we have easy access to so many beautiful and challenging mountain trails.

Hi Kris ... been thinking about you as I've been enjoying my vacation and treking across the "sands" of the Oregon coast! I hope you are doing well and have survived your first day or two by the time you read this!! I'm sure the rest of the trek will be a breeze now!! Best wishes ~ Anne

Love the new blog ladies!
And also the "new gear warning" - you'd be in touble if you did that in the desert!
Good luck with the rest of the training - I'm doing some serious tapering :)
