Great laughs last night at a spectacular campsite in a significant gorge surrounded by varying coloured jagged outcrops- wind slowly started picking up after dinner as we started adding layers until it was a camp full of arctic explorers. The cold night blew us into our tents and some good banter between Ryan, Hernan, Ash, Tim and Kirk- lively and interesting crew.

Hey Godfather ;) i'm sorry about your IT band-- if there is any way you can put it out of your mind I'm sure you will. Archer and I are cheering you and "daddy" along and wishing your strength, adventure, peace, success and a bit of bliss as you look around at the scenery. Enjoy every moment- even the painful ones. xo V&A

Hi love, sad to hear you are having body challenges but i know you've been through lots of them before and triumphed. I'm confident you'll find a way to do it again. I hope some sleep allowed you to shine today. Love your descriptions, poetic as always. We missed you celebrating Jay and Marie this weekend, with your family, the Randalls, old friends of my parents and then a bunch of Jay's friends, many who know you from Crescent or other parts of Toronto life. Everyone is awed, as always, at your strength and energy and sends their best. Devyn wanted me to tell you they won their game today ;-) As we go to sleep in very different worlds - a rainy city with bright lights, big trees and roofs as far as one can see - sending you lots of healing energy. Love, xo A

Landing in Santiago is similar to Vancouver with the majestic mountain range backdrop with the exception that much of the green lushness in western Canada is replaced with the harsh dryness of the Chilean desert.

Hopped another flight to Calama and an hour+ drive dropped us into a small oasis in the middle of harsh rugged red desert in San Pedro de Atacama.

Heading out to investigate the very small and Spanish smelling town for our "last supper"- head out tmrw.

Buenos Noches
