hey david, awesome work with the first 4 stages! really enjoyed your blog post about how you were able to put the hip and blisters in perspective and focus on the positives. i do think you must have some sort of magical power walking talent to have completed these stages in the times you have without running at all :) good luck with the long march tomorrow! - matt

Go David! Sounds like quite a day. We are all rooting for you big time and scouring the 4 Deserts page for your pictures and being in awe. The pictures look wild. No word on your hip or your blisters in this post so hoping that's a good sign. Sounds like you are having (although challenging) an amazing race. The new pumpkin flan awaits you on the other side. Love, la

Haha! i like the funny comments! I bet you would do great in the speed walking olympics :) Nikka get the bunny rock hopping from you! He has been rocking the hikes and bouncing along. So happy to hear that you are mentally enjoying this epic journey and race despite the setbacks and pain. You are doing amazing with the hip strain and the blisters and still having enough sense to enjoy your surroundings and the beauty of this place! We are cheering for you and keep talking with the boys about your progress each stage:) Andreas says he misses you and that he loves you! Bummer that you are not getting my e-mails. I wonder why they are not going through. We are ok and well and enjoying the sightseeing here with the boys and resting with naps during mid day. We are well and excited to see you on Saturday! one more strenuous day!! Woot woot! you got this! Love you so much! -Tati, Nikka and Andreas :)

WTG David! One foot in front of the other and take down one CP at a time. And be smart about your gear!!!! If you don't have enough clothes you could get Chile.

Pulling for you! Stay strong. A few days of pain for a lifetime of memories. Envious of your accomplishments. Just shuffle along. Your boys will have stories about their dad forever.

Hey tough guy! So glad that you are still loving the race and this beautiful place of wanders and amazing nature! We are so glad that we got to come with you and experience the beauty of your surroundings that you are racing through and to cheer you on within a distance of some miles! It's nice to know that we see the same sunset, sunrise, moon and stars each day and know that you are very close by working very hard! So good that you have nice people around you to cheer you on and make the race fun. We saw the sand cone too! They are so cool! We couldn't stop watching it. Good luck today through the salt flats! hope the hip and blisters give you a little break today! Keep up with the amazing energy and mindset! you got this!! And we are waiting for you at the end of stage 7! It seems really close now! We love you so much! Bug hugs!!! Love Tati and Nikka and Andreas :)

Hi! What an amazing attitude! We are so proud of what you are doing and your amazing power to persevere in such physical challenges! Having the right mindset is huge! You are doing amazing! I hope your blisters feel better in the morning and you set off for day 3 refreshed, recharged, and full of motivation to take on the day! It sounds like you enjoyed the sand dunes too! They were so soft going down! Maybe the water and then the sand led to the blisters? We are well here and sending you well wishes!! Have been on the lookout for you guys but no sightings yet! Sending you all the love, all the strength that we have!! Big hugs from me and the boys :)

Hola! Mi Amor :) Hooray for noodles and oatmeal! We are getting sick of our vegan feasts and skipping the desserts here in San Pedro. That's too bad that plan A did not work. We will send magical healing energy to your hip and keep thinking positive things for you! You are the fastest power walker I know and you placed 28th today which is super!! Some amazing shots of you today (smiling and happy) and it's nice to see you walking with a buddy too in some of them! We mistimed the sand dunes and went to them today, but you guys will be there tomorrow - hope you enjoy them as much as we did!! The tents sound amazing! Saw Mary tonight and she gave us some glimpses of you on her phone too :) Keep up the positive energy! Stay strong and take care of that hip - power walking will get you far in this terrain! Let the magic of the surroundings keep your spirits high! Big hugs and kisses from me and the boys! (we are safe and happy, and cheering for you)
