Well folks all I can say at this point is that Salt Flats are not flat!

So we started off the day through fairly beastly sanddunes as the sun warmed up, rocks and dunes, I felt a bit rubbish and breathless and struggled to find my rhythm, and had a pit stop just before CP1 to de-sand my shoes by a small river with David from Shanghai.

BRILLIANT Harry - and from now on you shall take the name "Last Tree in the Desert" - as your native Atacaman name. You know - like " Dances with Wolves" or perhaps there are other appropriate call-signs like "Sandwich Short of a Picnic" :) As C says you are simply AMAZING and CRAZY all in the same breath. Keep on running! James XXXX

Enjoy Harry darling - the best but craziest sister in the World!!! Thinking of you very much and hoping the first day is as exciting as all the photos have us believe. It looks very beautiful and England is quite grey and grim at the moment, so will be wonderful to follow you this week - all the family will be keeping in touch via whatsapp as usual and cheering you on - every step of the way - and glued to the 4Deserts website (oh dear, not going to get much work done!). Take great care! Love you 'madly', Catherine xxxxxxx
