hey all readers first race day, up at 2 AM and ready to leave for shore at 2.30 AM, not my favorite but well I choose this myself ! It was an extremly fine crisp morning , the pingiuns where already up. The course was quite tough as we ran in above ankel snow that was very fine and did not pack this meant a day that would kill knees and hips on most. It was quite hilly or lets say one big uphill and a downhill. There where several pinguin colonies on the way that meant pinguins first and then running. I had a rough and slow start but in the middle I got going trying to follow thomas and Bellingham, thomas was fast today and flew over the course, Francesco and Joe set out very fast with Ahn following. The sun was up until the the last hour and then we got the antarctica wind blowing in the face, things changes here very very fast. I am now back on the boat trying to recover my hip injury from this summer, everybody is brown in the faces and tired from this I would say perfect first day. sorry you all but just a little hej to my wife and daughter Victoria, I would have loved you to see this, icebergs, mountains, blue sea, pinguins, seals the lot, I miss you. Jacob

Preparing for Antarctica.

Thomas and I will be out training this weekend and sleep outside, we have 5 hours of training today and 4,5 hours tomorrow and a lot of snacks to eat around the fire tonight when we finish our first leg. We will be running north of Copenhagen, where there are a lot of deer ( not beer ) and great lakes - it is starting to get cold here and tonight when we are running it will go down to 0 degrees

I am now preparing the last training after an injury that took me 3 month to get over, wich means that my original plan of racing full speed in antarctica has been set back, I was quite frustrated in the start and trained even more on my injury
