Eight days for the Start... MY GOODNESSSS!!! Nervousness is already spreading among the group and that makes me start feeling more and more edgy. Today is my second to last long training. We are almost there, right at that time when you shout, "I can't take it anymore; I want to start RIGHT NOW!

Mao used to say that "the only way to control a trend is by making it faster". And as an obstinate opponent to the status quo, he joyfully pointed out that "there are tempests and sparks in the skies, it's an excellent situation..."

Let's go for Africa, let's go for Namibia, let's go for all!

8 días para la largada, MAMITAAAAAAA!!!!!, ya se comienza a contagiar los nervios en el grupo, y eso hace q a uno le suban lo suyos. Hoy mi anteúltimo fondo, ya no queda nada, exactamente en esos momentos donde decis, no quiero más, quiero largar YA!.

Mao decía q “la única manera de controlar una tendencia es acelerándola” y como adversario contumaz del statu quo, señaló gozoso que —hay tempestades y centellas en los cielos, la situación es excelente----”

Vamos por África, vamos por Namibia, vamos por todo!

Wow. Ten days.

In just ten days, I will once again be standing on the starting line of my third Ultra with Racing The Planet.

Inevitably, a bit of nostalgia appears. I remember the fears of my first race, Mongolia, where everything was new and every step was a question. I also remember how much I enjoyed the second one, Greece, with the confidence of knowing a little more about what to expect... although in these races, you never really know what to expect.

As Heraclitus said: "No one steps into the same river twice."

This third adventure has a special meaning. Not only because of the destination —Africa for the first time— and not only because of the 250 kilometers waiting ahead, but because I am not the same person either.

I arrive in Namibia carrying the experience of two previous ultras, with new lessons learned, new challenges, and a new version of myself ready to cross another desert.

Isabel Allende once said: "Writing is like making love; you don't worry about the orgasm, you worry about the process." And well... I remember "the process of Greece," which became a bridge toward the future. We will see what bridges Namibia has in store for us; we will discover them at the end of each stage.

I am looking forward to meeting old friends again, making new adventure companions, and sharing once more those unique moments that can only be experienced in a Racing The Planet race.

Let's go for Namibia.

And then... let's go for Antarctica.

As Oscar Wilde said: "The best way to get rid of a temptation is to give in to it."

So there is nothing left to do but accept the temptation.

Guau. Diez días.

En apenas diez días estaré nuevamente en la línea de largada de mi tercer Ultra con Racing The Planet.

Inevitablemente aparece algo de nostalgia. Recuerdo los miedos de mi primera carrera, Mongolia, donde todo era nuevo y cada paso era una pregunta. Recuerdo también cuánto disfruté la segunda, Grecia, con la confianza de saber un poco más qué esperar... aunque en estas carreras uno nunca sabe realmente qué esperar.

Como decía Heráclito: "Nadie se baña dos veces en el mismo río."

Esta tercera aventura tiene un significado especial. No solamente por el destino —África por primera vez— ni solamente por los 250 kilómetros que esperan adelante, es especial porque tampoco yo soy el mismo.

Llego a Namibia con la experiencia de dos ultras anteriores, con nuevos aprendizajes, nuevos desafíos y una nueva versión de mí mismo dispuesta a cruzar otro desierto.

Isabel Allende decía que “Escribir es como hacer el amor, no te preocupas por el orgasmo, te preocupas por el proceso” y bueno, recuerdo “el proceso de Grecia” que fue todo un puente hacia el futuro, veremos q puentes nos depara Namibia, nos iremos enterando al final de cada etapa.

Con muchas ganas de reencontrarme con viejos amigos, conocer nuevos compañeros de aventura y compartir nuevamente esos momentos únicos que solamente se viven en una carrera de Racing The Planet.

Vamos por Namibia.

Y después... vamos por Antártida.

Como decía Oscar Wilde: "La mejor manera de librarse de una tentación es caer en ella."

Así que no queda más que aceptar la tentación.
