VIEW >The moment a competitor decides to take on a race, the task at hand goes beyond just physical endurance, but a test of mind over body. Sure there is all that physical training one must be disciplined enough to maintain, but what’s not often asked is how do you train your mind? One’s passion for competing must turn into physical motivation, and then the zeal to push through until the finish line. At the Atacama Crossing 2013, a team from Japan got together via an “online” chance. Through their love of costumes, they found a bond so strong, it became their way of competing beyond what they thought was physically possible. At the end, they were greeted with loud cheers and became champions in the team category.
