Brandee L. Waite, M.D.
Sacramento, California
Brandee returns for her fifth 4 Deserts event, this time as the Medical Director. She is an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Sports Medicine at the University of California at Davis, Medical Center.  She completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital and was a Chief Resident of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Stanford University Medical Center.  She received a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.D. from the University of California San Francisco, School of Medicine.  Brandee has been the Assistant Medical Director for the Gobi March (China) 2005, Sahara Race (Egypt) 2005, the Gobi March (China) 2006 and the Atacama Crossing (Chile) 2006.

Carolyn is a Clinical Supervisor in a 12-physician Gastroenterology Department at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.  She also has 15 years' experience as an Emergency/Trauma nurse.  She loves traveling, backpacking, hiking, kayaking, gardening, and biking.  She has been a member of the Medical Team at the Atacama Crossing (Chile) 2004, the Gobi March (China) 2005, the Sahara Race (Egypt) 2005 and the Gobi March (China) 2006.  Carolyn's husband, James, will be competing in the Sahara Race 2006.

Carla has a B.S./R.N. and has worked as a nurse in Boulder, Colorado since 1994. She has been a member of the medical support team for events in China, India, Borneo, Switzerland, New Zealand and the United States. Carla was part of the Atacama Crossing (Chile) 2004 Medical Team and the Atacama Crossing (Chile) 2006.  She also regularly competes in cycling events, marathons, triathlons, off road mountain running and nordic skiing. Carla was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela.

Lori is an attending physician at the New York - Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell, St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital Center, and Beth Israel Medical Center.  She completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her B.S. in Psycho-Physiology at University of California, Davis, and her M.D. at University of California, San Diego.  She has served as a guest lecturer in Kosovo and the Dominican Republic, worked as a medical volunteer in Ethiopia and Mexico, and completed studies in rural healthcare in Thailand.  She has also served as a medical team captain for the New York City Marathon.
