There are five teams competing in the Sahara RaceT 2005. Team Dasani (Egypt), Team Hong Kong Deserters (Hong Kong), Team Last Minute (Germany, Switzerland, St.Lucia), Team Illinois (USA), Team Stray Dogs (USA).

A team must never be out of sight of each other while competing on the course. Team members must go through the startline, checkpoints and finish line together.
