Here's a look at what will be supporting the Sahara RaceTM 2005 competitors over the 250 kilometers in the Sahara Desert. |

Staff and Medical Support: There will be a total of 36 international staff including the volunteers and medical team. The medical team will number seven. |
|
Campsite: To assemble and take down the campsite daily and to drive vehicles, there is a local team of 35 individuals. |
|
Kitchen: There are three chefs to prepare food for the staff, medical team, volunteers and media. |
|
Vehicles: For transportation, there are 15 Toyota 4x4s vehicles. |
|
Tents: All tents were specially made for the Sahara RaceTM 2005 with special consideration given to chilly nighttime temperatures. There are 10 competitor tents, 5 staff and media tents, a kitchen tent, a medical tent, a headquarters tent, a lounge tent and 10 check point tents. These tents are made of high quality Egyptian cotton. |

Generators/Lighting: There are three generators to provide for staff lighting, laptops and battery charging. |

Communications: For communications, there is a system of walkie talkies and a backup system of Iridium satellite phones. The satellite Internet access is provided by Inmarsat R-BGAN with two terminals available during the event. |

GPS: There are six global positioning devices. |
