Dave is a software consultant who started his own company two years ago called GDI Solutions. When he's not working, he's traveling the world. He has participated in 11 marathons with a personal best of 3:02. In 2003, he competed in the River To River Race (placing third), the Hood To Coast Team (placing second in the co-ed team category), the Ironman Lake Placid (13:10:56) and the Ironman Florida (11:24:36). Dave was part of Team Illinois at the Atacama Crossing 2004, Gobi March 2005 and will be part of the same team again at the Sahara Race this year representing the United States. The Sahara Race will be Dave's third 4 Deserts event. |

Derek is a managing partner of a Hong Kong based venture capital technology fund. He is an avid runner and has completed the Standard Chartered Marathon (6x's), Hong Kong Trailwalker 100km Mountain Race (3x's), Power Bar Action Sprint Adventure Race (2x's), China Coast Marathon (2x's), Macau Marathon (2x's), Los Angeles Marathon (2x's), Las Vegas International Marathon, Hong Kong International Triathlon and the Kawaguchiko Japan Marathon. Derek was also a member of the USC Martial Arts Demo Team and placed 3rd in the 1988 Martial Arts Intercollegiate Championships. Out of 1,000 participants, he placed in the top 3rd and 4th percentile in the American Gladiator Contender Tryouts in 1994 and 1993 respectively. Derek was a member of the first Hong Kong team to ever compete in an Eco-Challenge, the Eco-Challenge Sabah 2000 and was the team captain in the Eco-Challenge New Zealand 2001. He has also completed the Marathon Des Sables 2002, Gobi March 2003 and Atacama Crossing 2004. Earlier this year, Derek assisted the Gobi March 2005 competitors as a volunteer. This will be Derek's third 4 Deserts race. |

Will is currently the headmaster at Auldern Academy in North Carolina. He is an accomplished rock-climber, skier, and surfer, and has competed successfully as a triathlete, rower, and runner. Ultra-marathoning is a new venture for Will. He placed seventh in his first ultra marathon, the Baldy Peaks 50Km, called "The hardest 50K in North America" with over 20,000 feet of elevation gain and loss. Will is humbled and thrilled by the prospect of running 150 miles in the Sahara Desert, and is working hard to prepare for his goal of finishing the race. He hopes to have many years of ultra-marathoning and is inspired by all of the silver-haired athletes he has seen compete in these races. A particular favourite of his is Trailwalker, which he has completed nine times in Hong Kong and once in the UK. Christopher also completed the inaugural Gobi March in 2003. |

Kevin, an elite athlete, has successfully participated in numerous international endurance events. In 2004, Kevin won the Atacama Crossing in Chile. He also finished in the top dozen in the French Marathon des Sables in the Sahara desert, and achieved second and third place finishes, respectively, in the Jungle Marathon (Brazil) and Gobi March 2003. All of these events are tough 150-mile stage races in which competitors must be self-sufficient. This will be his third 4 Deserts race. |
