| The Campsites |
|
Competitors will sleep at six campsites in the Sahara Desert all named according to a geographic feature of the area or historic event that took place. The campsite names are as follows: Camp Farafra, Camp White Desert, Camp Table Top, Camp Ice Cream Cone, Camp Black Desert and Camp Bahariya. |
|
Competitors will sleep in ten-person tents, all of which were custom made of pure Egyptian cotton taking into consideration expected weather conditions. |
|
Competitors have been carefully assigned tent numbers taking into account languages spoken, friendships or teammates, country of residence and work background. The tents are arranged to provide competitors with the opportunity to meet diverse and interesting people from all over the world. Many long-lasting friendships are formed. Great effort is placed on making sure that each person will have a rich experience. The competitor tentmate assignments are as follows: |

10 - 50 miles (20 - 80 kilometers) over seven days. The stages
are arranged to cover the most spectacular and varied part of

must pass through a checkpoint to collect Dasani water and where
medical assistance is also available. A typical day will have
three or four checkpoints which includes the finish line checkpoint
(or campsite). The expected checkpoints and stages are shown
below: |
|
| Start Line : Camp Farafra |
